Ganga devi :
According to a belief, Ganga is the daughter of( Himavan) , the king of mountains and his wife (Meena) , thus she is also the sister of Goddess Parvati. In every belief it definitely comes that he was brought up in heaven under the protection of Brahma ji.
The credit of bringing Ganga down to earth goes to baghirath. Whom through his extreme penance of many decades manage to bring Ganga down on earth , hence after also many requests not to mention.
Bhagiratha happened after 23rd generation of (brahma) and about 14th generation before (Ram). Before Bhagirath had brought the Ganga to earth, his ancestor Sagar had created many rivers and water bodies in India.
