Shiva's third son was Sukesh. According to the Puranas, the demon king Heti married a girl named Bhaya. From these two a son named Vidyutkesh was born. Vidyutkesh was married to Sandhya's daughter Salkatankata. Salakatankata was an adulteress. Because of this, when his son was born, he was left abandoned. Lord Shiv and Mother Parvati gave protection to that child and made him their son.

Ayyappa is the fourth son of Lord Shiva. She is worshiped in the Sabarimala temple in South India. Ayyappa is the son of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu as Mohini. Seeing the Mohini form of Vishnu, Shiva ejaculated and Ayyappa was born from him.

According to the Srimaddevi Bhagavat Purana, once Lord Shiva threw the spark that emanated from his third eye into the ocean, from which Jalandhar was born. Jalandhar hated Lord Shiva very much. Once Jalandhar started a war with Lord Shiva to make Mother Parvati his wife and was killed.
