Generally people know about the two sons of Lord Shiva
, Ganesha and Kartikeya. But you will be surprised to know that apart from these two, Lord Shiv had 5 more sons. His 7 sons have been told in mythology. After the union of Lord Shiv and Mother Parvati, their domestic life of Shiv started and due to various incidents in his life, Shiv had 7 sons. Lets know about the 7 sons of Lord Shiva.
1/7Karthikeya
According to the legends, after the death of Sati, Lord Shiva sat on a severe penance, then the tyranny of a demon named Tarakasura increased. All the gods troubled by Tarakasura went to Brahma, then he told that the son of Lord Shiva and Parvati would end Tarak. After this Parvati is married and thus Kartikeya is born and the demon ends.
2/7Ganesh
According to the legend, once Mata Parvati was going to take a bath, she saw that there was no one on guard. Then he made a son of his own from the filth and rubbish of his body and made him stand on guard. After sometime Lord Shiva came and the boy stopped him from leaving. In anger, Lord Shiva cut the boy's throat. Then after this the head of the baby elephant was applied to Ganesha.
