Austin didn't show on Friday either. I even snuck out to the back only to be met by two skittish girls, quickly stubbing out joints. I let them be and sulked back to class. I stared at my project for art, rough lines and course shading was all I put down. Matty looked at my sketch.
"Dude, my niece could doodle better than that"
I rolled my eyes at his perfect rendition of a clock makers wife.
"Not everyone can have a hand as smooth as yours"
I snapped.
He laid down his charcoal and studied me.
"What's going on with you. You're acting weird."
"Can I not act weird?"
I laid my head on the desk. He patted my back.
"I know what you need. Kellin's house 8 o'clock sharp. I'll pick you up"
I looked at him.
"A party?"
He just grinned.
