I thought about how scared Austin had looked when he was standing toe to toe with his father. I could see it on his face, before the first punch was thrown. I hadn't seen him scarred often. It was pouring down rain, the road hardly visible. Talia had called me earlier to see if I were coming in at Josh's request.  Over the past week and a half, I had received more envelopes, each stuffed with cash and a handwritten note. I had missed Josh every time I had visited, and was eager to jump on the chance to speak with him. I pulled into the parking garage, The gate attendant waving to me. The office was quiet, most of the staff having gone home already. Talia sat at her desk, quickly typing out last minute e-mails.

"He should be alone, just go in."

She said, hardly looking up. I walked past her, headed up the hallway. His hall was dark. I came to his office door, pushing it open. He sat, hunched over his desk, papers spread out.

"Please, sit down."

I sat in the chair directly across from him.

"How do you like it here? You've been on for nearly a month, so I only figured I should ask."

"I like it quite well."

I offered him a smile. He gave me a smirk.

"As you know we've just taken on a new partnership."

I nodded.

"And I was wondering if you would like to shadow me through the process. If you choose to accept, you get an upgrade on the car, and a paycheck."

He slid a folder across the table to me.

"How much do you know about this company?"

It was the file started over Carlile industries. I looked at Josh, trying to avert the panic on my face.

"I can't say I know too much."

"Did you buy that watch, or was it Austin?"

I looked at my wrist.

"Austin did."

"It's nice. Does Austin work?"

"No. His dad gives him the money."

Josh smirked again.

"And where does he get that money?"

I shrugged.

"From the company I suppose."

Josh stood.

"Very good."

He picked the file up, thumbing through it.

"Tell me. Are you familiar with finance?"

"I understand it, yes."

He handed me a few sheets of paper.

"Tell me what you notice."

I scanned the pages, my eyes drawn to the highlighted figures.

"My god, this fluctuation is incredible."

"I thought so too."

I furrowed my brow.

"This can't be right though. This number is almost 2 times the gross income for that quarter. The money came from somewhere else."

Josh took the papers from me.

"It isn't where it came from. It's where it went "

I noticed that two names were highlighted. Jason, and Austin's dad. Panic swam up my throat.

"Where did it go?"

I said weakly. Josh smiled.

"Look on your wrist."
