Kyra woke up early the next morning. It was a strange time, too early to wake Lucario and Willow, but too late to go back to sleep.
There was something calling Kyra towards the statues of the Legendary pokémon, but she didn't know why. The statues weren't too far away; Kyra could barely handle her curiosity, so she quietly got changed and headed to the statues to try and figure out what was calling her there. She left a note to explain where she was going, but she doubted she would be too long.
Eterna City was very peaceful, especially in the morning when no one else was really around. The old fashioned buildings combined with the few more modern buildings made for a some nice scenery, something that wasn't really to be expected.
As Kyra got there however, someone she guessed to be from Team Galactic was also intrigued about the statues. Kyra. As much as she wanted to confront him, she decided to follow Professor Rowan's warning and not make a fuss. She wouldn't be the one to start a conversation.
"So, you must be Kyra. Mars told me about you. I'll warn you, stay out of Team Galactic's way in the future. Don't meddle in things that don't concern you. It'll be for your own good," the Team Galactic member said as he approached Kyra.
"I am, but I'd appreicate it if you didn't threaten me. What's it to you anyway?" Kyra replied, not taking kindly to the threat.
"I'm Cyrus, Team Galactic's Leader. It was mainly just a warning, Leader to Leader if you will. No malicious intent was meant behind it," Cyrus said, introducing himself in the process.
Kyra was surprised by how calm Cyrus was being, she was very much on edge now. "Leader to Leader? What do you mean?" she asked.
Cyrus laughed slightly, "Well, you are the Leader of your little trio are you not?" he questioned.
"I wouldn't say I'm the Leader, no. What makes you think I'm the Leader?" Kyra asked, wanting to know why Cyrus saw her as the Leader.
"Perhaps it's to do with your recklessness, or maybe it's just my intuition. Point is, you see yourself as higher than your friends, they look up to you since you are clearly a much stronger trainer, hence you are their Leader," Cyrus explained.
Kyra was surprised that Cyrus saw her as a strong trainer, especially since he had warned her not to mess with Galactic's plans before. "I don't see myself as a better trainer, strength isn't what matters. What matters is the bonds between trainer and pokémon. You can be the strongest trainer in existence, but if you don't care for your pokémon, you'll never succeed in anything with them," she replied.
"So that's what you believe? I take it you are against Team Galactic's ideals to recreating the world then?" Cyrus asked, curious as to Kyra's perception of his ultimate plan.
"I don't believe that bonds are more important than strength, I know bonds are more important than strength. As for your ideals, I won't let you get away with them. The world isn't yours to recreate, it belongs to all the people and pokémon of this world. If you think I won't be able to stop you, just watch, you won't stand a chance," Kyra replied, no longer willing to take Cyrus' warning to stay away from Team Galactic's plans.
Cyrus began walking away, "If you really think you'll be able to stop me, then by all means try, but I won't be stopping for a foolish child like yourself without a fight. I would battle you now, but I'm not going to waste my pokémon's energy by battling a pathetic weakling such as yourself," he said.
"Take that back! I'm not a foolish child! The only pathetic one here is you!" Kyra snapped, she hated being called out for being a 'child'.
Cyrus had got the exact reaction he wanted, Kyra's temper was just what he had been pushing for. "Are you eighteen yet? No. Meaning you are still a child in my eyes. The fact you lost your temper at being called a child rather than me walking away proves as such. I'll battle you next time we meet, but don't expect to win. I don't lose to children who throw tantrums," he replied, walking away before Kyra could say anything else.
