Victoria, despite knowing deep down there was probably nothing wrong, was beginning to grow concerned about Kyra. She normally called every time she made it to a new City, but she hadn't called yet to say she had made it safely to Hearthome.
As much as it was tempting to call Kyra's Pokétch to see where she was, she decided against it, feeling it was better to just give Kyra some space and stop being so protective.
But after making her decision, Victoria began feeling more and more like she had made a mistake. If she didn't get a call from Kyra by later that afternoon, she would go and see where Kyra was herself.
The next few hours, Victoria couldn't help but fear the worst case scenario. If something had happened to Kyra, she would never forgive herself. Especially not since she had been the one who decided everything would be fine.
Just as she was about to leave to go and find Kyra, she finally received a call from the Hearthome City pokémon centre. She was beyond relived and sat down so she could take the call...but Kyra wasn't at the other side of the screen.
Nate and Willow were both clearly worried, Lucario and who Victoria assumed to be Kyra's new Eevee were just as - if not more - worried. She knew something was wrong with Kyra and dreaded hearing what Nate and Willow would have to say.
"Victoria, has Kyra gone back home?" Willow asked, it was obvious that she was hoping the answer would be yes.
"No, why would she be coming home? Is everything alright? Clearly not because you're calling me. What happened? You all seem so upset," Victoria questioned, worried as to what had happened between the three friends.
Nate sighed, "Far from it. We challenged the Hearthome City Gym earlier and lost a Triple Battle Challenge. Kyra was beyond livid and left without telling us where she was going, leaving Lucario and Eevee with us whilst she left her other four pokémon at the pokémon centre. We understand why she was so annoyed, but what she said still hurt," he explained, hoping Victoria would have some advise as to what to do.
Victoria knew it was unlike Kyra to be acting like this. There was clearly something bothering her beyond Nate and Willow's knowledge, maybe even her own pokémon's knowledge. But she did at least have an idea of where Kyra would be, she just hoped against all hope that she was wrong.
"I think I know where Kyra has gone, but it's best for you two to stay at the pokémon centre for the night, keep Kyra's pokémon with you and assure them that Kyra will be ok. Due to where I think Kyra is, I will explain more tomorrow morning, it's best Kyra spends the night away so she can calm down. I'll message you when I find her and stay with her for the night, everything will be ok. Thank you for letting me know," Victoria explained, saying goodbye to Nate and Willow before hanging up.
No doubt in Victoria's mind, Kyra had gone alone to Mount Coronet. But the problem, she had gone completely alone with nothing apart from herself. She quickly packed what she would need to keep Kyra happy and safe for the night, if her theory was right, they would definitely need it.
Before leaving, Victoria sent out her partners, Lopunny and Delcatty. Out of all the pokémon Kyra had been most upset by when she gained her fear, Lopunny amd Delcatty were by far the worst. Since Kyra was born, Victoria's Lopunny and Delcatty had been there for Kyra and enjoyed seeing her grow up. Kyra had enjoyed their company and Victoria had been happy enough to leave Kyra alone with Lopunny and Delcatty since the three got on so well. But that had all changed when Kyra was too scared to even be in the same room as them, let alone have them look after her and keep her company. Now however, Kyra had grown close to Lopunny and Delcatty again, much to Victoria's relief.
Lopunny and Delcatty stuck close to Victoria and made sure she was ok. They could both sense just how stressed Victoria was and they wanted to do what they could to help.
