Kyra woke early the next morning, her sleep had been ridden with nightmares over her last challenge against Fantina and Team Galactic, going back to sleep just wasn't going to happen now.

Whilst Kyra waited for her pokémon and Willow to wake up, she decided to strategise for her rematch against Fantina. Rather than having a single battle like her previous successful Gym Battles, Kyra wanted to ask Fantina for a double battle. Kyra knew that both Lucario and Eevee needed a confidence boost after losing to Saturn, battling together was the best way of gaining that confidence.

It didn't take Kyra long to come up with a plan to take Fantina's team, her main focus being the Mismagius which had proven the most challenging opponent in their past battle. But even Kyra was doubtful of her plan. It would take trust from all three of them, a second of hesitation and the battle would most end in another defeat.

Kyra was so deep in thought that it took a surprisingly powerful Shadow Ball from Eevee to break her out of worrying over her plan.

"Sorry Eevee, I didn't mean to be ignoring you," Kyra apologised, picking Eevee up and giving her the usual morning cuddles she was looking for.

Eevee purred as Kyra cuddled her, Kyra was by far better at giving cuddles than Lucario was...not that Eevee would say that to Lucario's face of course.

"What we're you thinking about anyway? I know you always strategise against Gym Leaders in advance, but this is extra, even for you," Willow asked, curious as to what was on Kyra's kind.

"I have an idea as to how I want to take Fantina on, but it'll all come down to whether or not my risk will play off," Kyra replied, hoping Willow wasn't going to ask about Team Galactic.

Willow wanted to know what Kyra was planning, maybe she could learn from her best friend's seemingly flawless strategies. "Can I ask what you're planning? I could do with some pointers since I really don't know how to deal with Fantina's pokémon besides hoping Mismagius will sweep with Shadow Ball," she asked, admitting she didn't have much of a plan.

Kyra nodded, "I want to challenge Fantina to a double battle. I want Lucario and Eevee to have their confidence boosted, but also I have an idea beyond that which is a big risk. If my plan works, I shouldn't have any problems, but if it doesn't...well I'll probably lose again," she explained, hoping Lucario and Eevee would be happy battling with one another.

The two agreed to their trainer's suggestion and were clearly looking forward to the Gym Battle. Kyra and Willow got themselves ready as quickly as possible and went to wait for Nate donw in the lobby of the pokémon centre.

Nate came down the stairs about ten minutes later, Lucario and Eevee ran over to him and practically dragged him down the stairs and towards the door so they could get to the Gym as soon as possible.

"Hey, calm down you two, we need to eat breakfast first. Otherwise you won't have any energy for the Gym Battle," Kyra laughed, mainly finding Nate's surprise comedic.

Lucario and Eevee again took Nate to the table and waited impatiently for Kyra to give them their breakfast. Kyra sent the rest of her pokémon out so they could eat too, but Lucario and Eevee were so quick to eat that Kyra hadn't even finished pouring Luxray her food before they had both got half way through their food.

"Slow down you two, eat too quickly and you're going to choke," Kyra said worriedly.

Miraculously, Lucario and Eevee managed to eat without choking, but they still couldn't go to the Gym yet since Nate hadn't eaten.

"Another reason why you two should have slowed down, now you have to wait for Nate to eat. Just because Willow and I ate already doesn't mean Nate doesn't matter," Kyra reminded, hoping that Lucario and Eevee wouldn't eat that quickly again.
