Chpater 49 - Canalave Things Get Any Worse?

Rather than heading straight to Canalave, Kyra suggested they stayed in Celestic Town for a bit longer. She hadn't had chance to figure anything out yesterday, so the time after having lunch Kyra would use to her advantage.

Nate and Willow didn't mind staying in Celestic Town for a bit since it meant they had chance to talk to Cynthia who had come over to have lunch with the group and ask about Kyra's battle with Cyrus. The two friends were growing increasingly concerned for Kyra, but Cynthia assured them that Kyra was just curious about her control of aura.

Rather than wasting time searching for knowledge that wouldn't come, Kyra asked for Lucario to try and sense some sort of aura link. Lucario tried all she could to pick up some sort of a link, but she got nothing apart from Kyra's own aura. Kyra thanked Lucario for trying and stayed out with her and Eevee for a bit so they could enjoy the quiet of the town.

Sitting atop the hills surrounding Celestic Town and looking down at the city below was something that finally helped Kyra relax. She now fully had the weight of hiding Cyrus from Nate and Willow off of her chest, but his threat earlier had made her worry.

Lucario and Eevee picked up on Kyra's stress and tried to comfort her as best as they could; they could tell she was feeling low again and they wanted to help any way they could. Kyra had tried to fake a smile and make out that she was OK...but deep down, that was what her partners saw.

"Anything we can do to help?" Eevee asked, hoping Kyra would talk.

Kyra sighed, letting down her emotional shield and letting her pokémon see there was indeed something wrong. "I'm just worried about Cyrus' threat and questioning who Akari is and what she has to do with mine and Cyrus' family. At first I thought it was just him taunting me, but now I know there's something important and I just can't find out what. Not to mention Mum is being really suspicious about aura and Akari too, it's not like her to hide something from me," she explained, expressing her concerns.

Lucario and Eevee understood why Kyra was so stressed, they knew they would be too if they were in her situation.

"Cyrus' threat, I wouldn't worry too much on it. I know it's much easier said than done, but the chances of Team Galactic actually working out how to manipulate your aura in the ways Cyrus implied are so slim it's not worth stressing over. Worst comes to worst, I know how to transfer pain caused by aura manipulation, or at least the basics of it, so I'd be able to help you cope better," Lucario said, hoping to ease Kyra's stresses slightly.

Kyra thanked Lucario for calming her down slightly, thanking Eevee too for being there for her. She appreciated her pokémon more than she could say, she had started journeying at the right time, that was certain.

That night, the group decided they'd leave early for Canalave City in the morning and fly there. Whilst Kyra had been out trying to calm her nerves, Cynthia had given Willow a Shiny Stone to evolve either Roselia into Roserade, or Togetic into Togekiss. For the ease of being able to fly both her and Nate if they needed it, she evolved Togetic into Togekiss. Cynthia was planning on heading to Canalave City in the morning too to meet with Lucian and was more than happy to take Kyra, Nate, and Willow with her.

Kyra planned on letting both Gabite and Gliscor fly to Canalave eventhough Nate and Willow were both going on Togekiss. She felt slightly guilty for Gabite having to be separated from her last time and had heard how stressed he had got, and since it would be unfair for Gliscor not to fly too, Lucario and Eevee could fly on Gliscor.

Everyone was up early the next morning so they could get to Canalave as soon as possible. Kyra's Gabite was determined to show Cynthia's Garchomp how fast he was, but Cynthia's Garchomp was having none of it and proved she was much faster. Cynthia and Kyra were both amused by the two pokémon, they had both enjoyed the much faster than normal speed - despite having to have waited for Gliscor and Togekiss to catch up. Nate and Willow were glad to see Kyra looking much happier now, hoping it stayed.
