Kyra couldn't help but worry about what Lucian would try next. Without being able to switch Gliscor out, Lucian had a big advantage. He knew how she would battle and had a counter for anything she tried.
"You may have the advantage now kiddo, but that won't last for long. I already have a theory of who you'll use for the rest of this battle, not to mention I have a theory of your strategy. Too bad for you, I won't be going easy on you. Let's go, Alakazam."
Alakazam was the pokémon Kyra was most worried about considering Gliscor was out now. She knew one of his moves already, something that was a big worry.
"Alright Gliscor, use Earthquake," Kyra said, trying to get in a strong attack from afar before battling close range.
Gliscor swung her tail into the ground, sending the powerful attack towards her target. But that was the exact call Lucian had expected. He and Alakazam knew exactly how to avoid it having practiced against Bertha's Gliscor specifically for this moment.
Alakazam levitated himself above the ground before Earthquake hit, setting up the first part of his strategy. Forming an Energy Ball upon Lucian's call and targeting Gliscor.
"Counter that with Aerial Ace!" Kyra called, hoping her plan wouldn't back fire.
Gliscor glided down towards the oncoming Energy Ball. Aerial Ace's power surrounded her and she put her trust in her power.
"Nice try, but we can counter that. Alakazam, use Psychic," Lucian called, knowing that he could take Gliscor out now.
Alakazam's Psychic stopped Gliscor's Aerial Ace in its path and she was hit hard by Energy Ball and knocked out. Down to a two on two.
Kyra thanked Gliscor and returned her to her pokéball. Out of the two pokémon she had left planned, one of them was much more likely to be successful than the other. That pokémon was Luxray.
Lucian's Alakazam was a big threat, it could move so quickly and could hit extremely hard with its Special Attacks. There was something Kyra had to rely on, luck.
"Luxray, use Discharge," Kyra called, hoping she would get lucky and Discharge would trigger a paralysis.
Luxray powered up her attack and she sent it towards Alakazam. The attack filled the room and nowhere Alakazam could move to was safe.
Alakazam was hit hard by the Discharge, much to Lucian's concer. He had trained Alakazam specificially in Special Attack and Defense, the only way of bypassing that was a critical hit. Alakazam was clearly struggling with how much damage he had taken, not only that, but the electricity still cracking around him made Lucian worry even more. A critical hit, paralysis Discharge. Kyra had certainly got off lucky.
"Lucky hit. You really are backing me into a corner Kyra, just as I hoped you would. Alakazam, use Focus Blast," Lucian said, taking advantage of Alakazam's limited movement to give him more chance of landing a successful Focus Blast.
Kyra knew Focus Blast was a dangerous attack. It was very inaccurate, but that had essentially been cancelled out by paralysis affecting Alakazam as it was. Only Lucain would be able to pull off such a strategy.
"Luxray, use Double Team."
Luxray multiplied, she and Kyra concentrating more on the fact they needed to avoid the oncoming Focus Blast than what Lucian would do next. Big mistake.
Before having been hit with Discharge, Alakazam had followed his normal tactic and used Mind Reader. No matter what Luxray did, Focus Blast would hit.
Kyra and Luxray didn't get chance to act before Focus Blast sought out its target and landed. Luxray shook herself down, but it was clear she had taken a lot of damage. It would be easy enough to take Alakazam down with a Crunch from where they were, she just wouldn't be able to do much against Lucian's last pokémon.
