Not to Lucian's surprise, Victoria was reluctant to tell Kyra anything about their family's past, on her own side or her husband's side. It was more to protect Kyra than to leave her in the dark, and Lucian understood why Victoria was reluctant to tell Kyra about it, but he couldn't help but wonder if journeying would just result in Kyra finding out part of her ancestor's pasts of her own accord.

Lucian stuck to his word however and agreed not to say anything to Kyra about the past. He knew that Kyra would have to go to Canalave City at some point in her journey; it wouldn't be his fault if Kyra just so happened to find a book in the library about her ancestors.

Kyra began to stir a couple of minutes later, Lucario and Eevee made sure their trainer stayed comfortable and didn't risk injuring herself by sitting up too quickly.

"Feeling better now?" Lucian asked once Kyra was fully awake.

Kyra nodded, "Yeah, thanks. Are you ok?" she asked in reply, much more worried for Lucian than herself.

"It was a bit of a scare when the antidote didn't kick in, but luckily an old friend of mine had a pokémon able to help," Lucian explained.

Kyra felt guilty for having dragged Lucian into danger simply because of her stupidity. She hated herself for thinking that talking to Jupiter alone would have ended any other way than what it had done.

"Hey hey hey, come here. I'm ok Kyra, this isn't your fault," Lucian said, noticing Kyra was on the verge of a breakdown.

Kyra scooted over to Lucian and hugged him, breaking down. Lucian gently put his arms around Kyra to try and comfort her, further showing her that he would be fine.

"You were poisoned because of me, this is all my fault, I'm sorry," Kyra apologised through her tears.

Lucian understood why Kyra was so worked up, it wasn't the first time someone he was close to had felt this kind of guilt. But despite this not being new, he still had no idea how best to go about calming Kyra down.

"Whatever that Commander wanted, I take it you didn't let her have her way," Lucian said, hoping he wasn't making Kyra's emotional state worse.

Kyra sighed and tried to calm down enough to explain what had happened, giving herself a couple of minutes to do so.

"Jupiter tried getting me to join Team Galactic. She almost manipulated me, but I managed to stop myself from falling for it," Kyra explained once she was calm enough. She still felt foolish, but at least she hadn't fallen for Jupiter's trick.

Lucian was beyond surprised, not only at the fact Team Galactic wanted Kyra on their side, but the fact they had almost persuaded her to join them. All the time Lucian had known Kyra for, he had always known her to be the kind of person to adapt to their surroundings rather than changing them, the opposite of what Team Galactic had planned.

"I know, I'm as surprised at myself as you are. Their Leader has had their eye on me for a while now, and even though I've only had two encounters with him thus far, and I'm sure I'll have more with him...but I can't stop thinking about what he said me. We're similar. I hate to admit it, but we are," Kyra continued, taking Lucian's confusion as an opportunity to rant.

Lucian knew he had to try and lift Kyra's spirits, pointing out her positives was an option, but in the state Kyra was currently in...she would most likely just counter anything he said.

"Anyway, enough about Team Galactic. How did you know that I had drained myself by using aura?" Kyra asked, quickly moving on to asking the questions herself.

Lucian was on very fine ice, he couldn't afford to let anything slip just in case Kyra questioned Victoria about it. "I'm an avid reader as you know, aura interests me. Nothing more to it than that," he replied, figuring it was the safest option.
