Now down to a two on two, both Kyra and Cynthia knew which pokémon they'd be sending in first. Both trainers wanted to save their Ace's till last.
"Glaceon, let's go!"
Kyra's Glaceon jumped onto the field whilst Cynthia sent her's out. This would be an interesting battle to say the least. Despite being the same species, both Glaceon had very different move sets.
"We can't set up our normal strategy since Cynthia can just take advantage of it in return. So instead, we'll just use our backup. Use Shadow Ball and Iron Tail!" Kyra called, hoping her plan would work.
Glaceon sent her Shadow Ball in the air and she jumped up to hit it down towards Cynthia's Glaceon with an Iron Tail. She was confident in her power, the combination she had used was one of the strongest she had formed lately.
"Fine by us, use Mirror Coat!" Cynthia called, no longer backing down. If she could make a call to increase her chances of winning, she'd make it.
Cynthia's Glaceon sent the Shadow Ball straight back towards Kyra's. She tried to spin and hit it away with Iron Tail, but her attempt was futile and the Shadow Ball hit its creator hard. Kyra couldn't help but worry, Mirror Coat was like Counter just for Special Attacks rather than Physical.
Kyra's Glaceon just about managed to land on her paws, she was struggling already from the damage from Shadow Ball, she had only been battling for a matter of seconds. "Not good, not good. Mirror Coat dealt so much damage. Maybe I'll have to battle in close, it's not ideal, but it's better than not attacking at all."
Glaceon followed her trainers call and she ran in to try and land an Ice Fang. She put her trust in Kyra's plan and knew that Kyra knew what she was doing.
"Glaceon, avoid it with Dig," Cynthia replied.
As Cynthia's Glaceon borrowed his way underground, Kyra had an idea. If Glaceon could close up the hole with Ice Beam then use Iron Tail to confuse and distort Cynthia's Glaceon, then maybe she stood a chance at winning.
Glaceon once again put her trust in Kyra and she followed her plan. She froze over the hole Cynthia's Glaceon had made and she began running around and using Iron Tail, causing as much confusion as possible.
"We're not getting anywhere like this. Glaceon, jump out and use Secret Power!" Cynthia called, worried that her initial plan was now a fail. A below ground attack wouldn't work if it were impossible for Glaceon to find his target.
Cynthia's Glaceon jumped out from the ground with a Secret Power at the ready and he leapt towards Kyra's Glaceon. Kyra's Glaceon stood her ground, she had always guessed what Kyra's next call would be and she was ready to follow it.
"Alright Glaceon, use Ice Fang again," Kyra said, hoping that Glaceon would be able to get the attack off.
As Kyra's Glaceon threw Cynthia's with the help of Ice Fang, Cynthia had an idea. Her Glaceon's newly mastered Blizzard would no doubt be enough to finish off Kyra's if it hit. She knew it was a risky call, but one she had to make.
"Glaceon, flip and use Blizzard!" Cynthia called, hoping Blizzard would actually be able to hit.
The fury that was Blizzard reached Kyra's Glaceon before she even had chance to react. Being an Ice Type made no difference when a Blizzard was this strong. Glaceon tried to keep her ground stood, but every pelt hurt more and more, she knew she couldn't take much more.
"Glaceon, use your spikes!" Kyra called. She had learnt that Glaceon's spikes became sharper when they were under stress, that certainly applied to Glaceon right now.
