Before heading on towards Snowpoint City the next morning, the trio decided to check out the Canalave Library. Kyra's sleep had been disturbed by Cyrus' mention of Akari once more and the after effects of the aura manipulation. She wanted answers, and since Nate and Willow wanted to do some research behind aura as well, it gave them a reason to check out the Library.
Lucario and Eevee were just as curious as their trainer was to find out about Akari. They too wanted asnwers as to how she and Kyra were related, and futhermore, whether or not Akari was the reason behind why Kyra could use Aura.
Kyra and her pokémon split off from Nate and Willow so they could look for books about Hisui, it was the closest thing they knew to Akari's existence, so it was the best place to start.
The three weren't the only ones there however, Cynthia and Lucian were too. Kyra and her pokémon knew that listening in to what the two were saying would be wrong, but right now, all they cared about was getting infirmation.
"Does she know yet?" Cynthia asked.
"Neither me nor Victoria feel the time is right. Especially not after what Cyrus threatened when he and Kyra last met. Victoria told me how worried Kyra was and we agreed that telling her about the truth is too much of a risk considering what's at stake," Lucian replied.
Cynthia wasn't surprised by Lucian's response, but she certainly didn't agree with what was being proposed. "All it takes is..." she started.
"Cynthia, please don't talk about him. I miss him like mad and I know Victoria does too, but we're both just as angry as each other at him for leaving. If Kyra did somehow manage to find him, I doubt he'd tell her anything, he hates the memories just as much as Victoria and I do," Lucian interrupted, Cynthia had touched a nerve by almost bringing up his lost best friend.
Cynthia apologised for having touched a nerve, it had been the opposite of her intentions. What was more worrying however was that Garchomp had latched on to Kyra and her pokémon being close by. How much had Kyra heard? she thought, hoping Kyra hadn't heard much.
Kyra knew that her cover had been blown by the silence between Cynthia and Lucian. As much as she was annoyed at what was being hidden from her, she knew she couldn't risk making it obvious that she now had even more questions than before.
"I can come back in a second if I'm interrupting something," Kyra said, acting as if she had only just come up the stairs.
"No, don't worry about it. We were just talking about Team Galactic and what they're planning. We've established that they want the Lake Guardian's and ultimately the Legendary Trio of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. But we don't know much more than that," Lucian replied, trying his best to cover up his and Cynthia's tracks.
Considering how vague Cynthia and Lucian had been, Kyra knew she wasn't going to get the information she wanted. But even if she had wanted to question them, she wouldn't have had the chance to.
A loud bang that reminded Kyra of what had happened at the end of her battle with Crasher Wake practically shook the Library. Being on the top floor made the shake even more obvious, the sounds of panic on the floors below causing them to worry even more.
"Speak of the devils, they strike once again. That was no doubt some sort of explosion, it sounded the exact same, if not louder, than the one that went off at Lake Valor. The bomb is either more powerful this time, or there are more than one," Kyra said, turning to Lucario for her input.
Lucario agreed with Kyra's idea, she had sensed the explosions had gone off at the three lakes, Verity, Valor, and Acuity.
"Three places, we can split that between us easy enough. If you're happy for Nate and Willow to help, they can check Verity and Valor whilst we go and check Acuity. Lucian, I'll need you to stay here and make sure no one was hurt and ensure no one causes a panic," Cynthia replied.
