Kyra woke early the next morning, sleeping upright was uncomfortable, so she stood herself up and went to change into some more comfortable clothes.

The only outfit that Kyra thought would be comfortable enough to wear was her hoodie and joggers, a fairly effortless outfit choice, but right now she didn't care. Not to mention it would help keep her warmer against the colder temperatures outside, along with her father's scarf of course.

Lucario and Eevee stretched as Kyra came back into the bedroom after changing. Eevee was fully awake and ready for cuddles, but Lucario still wanted to sleep more and she quickly settled herself down again.

"Do you want to go out for a walk before we take on Cyrus on later? It'll hopefully get you more in the zone too," Kyra suggested so that she and Eevee didn't wake Lucario or Willow up.

Eevee nuzzled into the hood of Kyra's hoodie and playfully nosed Kyra's neck, giving Kyra the yes she had expected.

Rather than going anywhere specific, Kyra decided it was best to see what stuck out to her. She still wanted to find out something more about Akari and what connection the two shared, more specifically though the connection she shared with Cyrus' family.

"I see Eevee's been raised well thus far, I knew you would make a good trainer for her," a voice praised, a voice Kyra was glad to hear.

Kyra was glad that Cynthia was in Celestic Town since she was well known for her research into Sinnoh Myths and Legends, something Kyra could use to her advantage.

"Thanks Cynthia, I really appreciate you giving her to me as an egg. She's been great to train," Kyra replied, taking advantage of the opportunity to talk to Cynthia.

Cynthia smilled as Eevee made her way to her normal spot on Kyra's shoulder, curiously sniffing at Cynthia and Garchomp. She gently stroked Eevee between her ears, making Eevee purr slightly.

"Still haven't decided on what you want to evolve her into?" Cynthia asked, curious as to what Kyra's answer would be. From the battle they had had before, Cynthia had worked out that Kyra was no ordinary trainer, would she soon see another instance of the abnormality?

Kyra shook her head, "I'm letting Eevee  choose what she evolves into and when. Right now we've narrowed it down to between Espeon or Glaceon, but Eevee's still deciding," she explained.

"Good answer, it's nice to see a trainer who goes by what their pokémon want rather than just what they themselves want. How's your journey going by the way? Lucian told me about the incident at the Pastoria Gym, are you ok now?" Cynthia asked, gesturing for Kyra to follow her and Garchomp so they could go and sit down to chat more.

Kyra explained what had happened since the Hearthome City Gym Badge, Cynthia expressed her concerns and offered to give Kyra some more ice for her ribs, Kyra accepted the offer and Cynthia had Garchomp stand in front of them so Kyra felt slightly less exposed.

"Glaceon, come on out," Cynthia said, sending out her Glaceon.

Eevee sat in awe of the pokémon now sat before her. Glaceon's fur glistening in the early morning sunlight like ice on a cold winter morning caught Eevee's interest and she wagged her tail in excitement.

Kyra laughed slightly, "This is the first time you've seen a Glaceon in person, I take it you like what you see?" she asked.

Eevee nodded, "I want to be a pretty Glaceon like Cynthia's. Can I, can I, can I?" she replied.

Cynthia's Glaceon turned its head at hearing what Eevee had said, seeming somewhat offended by it. Cynthia signalled for Glaceon to jump into her lap, Glaceon did so but kept its eye away from Eevee at all costs.

"Let me guess, Eevee assumed you were a female?" Cynthia asked, Glaceon nodded and began growling. "Ah ah ah, there's no need for that. I want you to use Ice Beam and Serect Power to make an ice pack to help Kyra's pain, you don't need to help Eevee," Cynthia explained, stroking Glaceon to try and cheer him up.

Glaceon used Ice Beam and directed it to the air, allowing himself to use Secret Power to form the ice pack to fit perfectly around Kyra's injured ribs. He gently put the ice pack in place and made sure to give it an extra layer of ice so it stayed in place.

Kyra shivered at the cold ice against her ribs through her top, but at least she had her hoodie to help stay warmer. Thanks to Glaceon's ice, it wouldn't melt as quickly since Secret Power had been used in such a way to prevent melting as quickly.

"Thanks Cynthia, I appreciate it," Kyra thanked, stroking Glaceon's back to thank him.

"Don't mention it, it's the least I could do for a great trainer like yourself. Not to mention I think this is the calmest I've seen Glaceon after around anyone besides me, he's normally really aggressive towards other trainers," Cynthia replied, amazed to see Glaceon so calm.

The two continued to talk for a bit, Cynthia expressing her interests in Sinnoh Myths and Legends to Kyra, an interest they both shared.

"This may sound like a weird question, but does the name Akari mean anything in any of the Myths or Legends you know about?" Kyra asked, hoping Cynthia's insight was what she needed.

Cynthia thought for a moment, the name Akari was certainly familiar. "I believe she was one of the first people to truly live alongside pokémon when the Sinnoh Region was known as Hisui, she completed the first pokédex too if I remember correctly. I know you'll probably be travelling to Canalave City soon, and as long as the book is still there, I can help you find the information you're looking for," Cymthia replied, glad to see Kyra had cheered up a bit.

Kyra thanked Cynthia and decided to go back to the pokémon centre for the last of her preparations for taking on Cyrus. Cynthia decided to stay in Celestic Town to 1) find out more information about Akari, and 2) to overlook the battle between Kyra and Cyrus just in case things got out of hand.

Cyrus was already in the pokémon centre, having got himself into an argument with Nate and Willow.

"See, I didn't do anything! Kyra and Eevee just went out for a walk!" Cyrus snapped when he saw Kyra and Eevee.

Kyra was confused as to what had gone on, even Lucario had formed an Aura Sphere and targeted it at Cyrus.

"We thought he'd kidnapped you or something, we were so worried," Nate explained.

Kyra sighed, "I was going to get back sooner, but I bumped into Cynthia and we had a chat, that's all. Besides, why would Cyrus want to kidnap me?" she replied.

"It's obvious he wants you on Team Galactic's side. I bet he called for that Drapion to attack you just so he could get you on his side, but things got out of hand and he had to step in," Willow accused, making Cyrus even more annoyed.

Cyrus broke eye contact and walked over to Kyra, "I'm sorry for having caused a fuss before our battle. Me being in a foul mood will give me an unfair advantage. It's best we..." he started.

"Don't you dare try and rearrange the battle again! Either we do it now, or you lose by default. Stop being a coward, I know that's why you keep holding this off. You may be stupid, but I'm not," Kyra snapped, she too was in a foul mood now and it knew would affect her battling style.

Cyrus gave in and agreed to battle Kyra in a three on three. Kyra agreed and knew which three pokémon she'd use.
