Chapter 74 - Suprise

"I think if I take it easy today, I might be able to return to normal tomorrow. It's probably not a good idea to go back today because I've been up for a good five hours already, but at least I should be able to get some sleep for tomorrow," Kyra said after giving Lucario and Glaceon their breakfast.

Victoria was glad to see Kyra's change in spirits, as much as she enjoyed Kyra's company, she hated seeing her the way she had been the last couple of days. "That's works out well. I need to head to Veilstone City tomorrow to grab my big shop, you can give me a hand if you want to then walk on to Sunnyshore City since it's not too far from Veilstone," she suggested.

Kyra saw right through Victoria's suggestions, she knew Victoria normally left her big shop for the weekends, but considering tomorrow was a Wednesday, she guessed the true meaning behind the suggestion. "Yeah, I suppose that'd be alright. I can grab a couple of things too whislt we're there," she replied.

The only negative behind Victoria's suggestion was that Kyra was vulnerable to spoilers of the new Brycen Movie. Last time she had made sure to book tickets the second she found out about the movie, but this time she hadn't been so lucky. She wanted to watch the movie with no spoilers, but that chance was very quickly diminishing by the second.

"We're probably going to have to be up around 6:30 ish though if we want to get the train we need. You sure you'll be alright with that?" Victoria asked, shopping wasn't the only thing she had in mind to do with Kyra tomorrow.

Kyra didn't mind getting up early, it meant she got to spend more time with Victoria before rejoining Nate and Willow. She had only really slept in a few times on her journey, her usual time up was between 6:00 and 7:00 anyway.

After finishing their breakfasts, Lucario and Glaceon walked over to their trainer and cuddled up to her. Kyra was glad her pokémon hadn't turned against her in the time she had been distant from them.

The next morning, Kyra was up early as Victoria had told her to be. Lucario and Glaceon were up not long after, looking forward to seeing Nate and Willow again. Kyra left her pokémon to properly wake up whilst she went to get ready herself.

Victoria was preparing Kyra's favourite breakfast of pancakes, contemplating whether or not to let her know of the surprise she had waiting for her at breakfast or when they got to the station. In the end, she decided to wait.

"You two sure are lucky, Mum's pancakes are the best!" Kyra said as she came downstairs, smelling the pancakes as she got about half way down.

Victoria laughed from the kitchen, "There'll be plenty for you and your pokémon. Lopunny and Delcatty can have some too. I thought I'd treat you all since this will hopefully, in the best way, be the last time you're here before taking on the Elite Four," she replied, finishing on the pancakes just in time for Kyra to get downstairs.

Kyra and Victoria let their pokémon out from their pokéballs, introducing them to one another in the process. On the whole, everyone was social and got on well. All apart from Luxray who had taken to the corner of the sofa and hid from the others.

"Bless her, even with the rest of the gang here she's scared. I'll come and eat in a minute, I need to help Luxray out first," Kyra said, bringing over a couple of pancakes for Luxray to eat.

Luxray lifted her head as she saw Kyra come over, she wagged her tail slightly and tried to come across as if nothing was wrong. Kyra sat beside her and gently stroked her mane to calm her down, glad to hear Luxray's purrs of content.

"Lopunny and Delcatty are my Mum's partners. They journeyed with her just as you and the others are doing with me. If I remember correctly, Mum caught Delcatty first, then hatched Lopunny from an egg that was abandoned in Eterna Forest. They're both really nice, they helped me get over my fear of pokémon to an extent," Kyra explained, assuring Luxray that Lopunny and Delcatty were friendly.
