Cyrus' Crobat was now hovering in front of his trainer again, staring Kyra down to intimidate her. Kyra knew that she couldn't let her guard down again, she had to battle with Glaceon and Lucario well, otherwise she would lose. Although Kyra knew that Toxic was a big threat, she couldn't risk letting Lucario battle yet just in case she was knocked out. Glaceon was strong, but wouldn't stand as much chance against a Weavile as Lucario did.
"You ready Glaceon?" Kyra asked, knowing that Glaceon would jump down the second the question was asked.
Glaceon jumped down from her trainer's shoulder and growled at Crobat, she wasn't going to let Cyrus win.
Cyrus couldn't let Kyra take the first move again, he could tell just how much stronger Glaceon had become since evolving. "Crobat, use Cross Poison."
Crobat followed his trainer's call and dove down towards Glaceon, his wings at the ready to land his attack. Not only did Cross Poison have the chance of poisoning the target, but it also had a high chance of landing a critical hit. Triggering both would be the ideal situation, but Cyrus would be happy if just one triggered.
Glaceon readied herself for Crobat's attack, spiking up her fur as Kyra had asked her to. She knew that firing the spikes too early or too late would result in their plan failing, something she didn't want to happen.
As Crobat closed in, Kyra told Glaceon to counter. Glaceon's ice spikes hit Crobat hard and stopped Cross Poison from being as big of a threat due to Crobat's attempts to shake the spikes away.
"Use Ice Fang, take advantage of Crobat being in close," Kyra called, if Cyrus was going to battle without care for her pokémon, she wasn't going to care for his.
Glaceon jumped at Crobat and threw him to the floor with Ice Fang, her aggression taking Cyrus by surprise.
Before Cyrus could react, Glaceon formed a Shadow Ball and was directing it at Crobat. She had acted without Kyra making a call, far from a loyal action.
"Good, now use Iron Tail," Kyra said, she had worked out what Glaceon wanted to do and was happy with her plan.
Glaceon nodded and threw the Shadow Ball up slightly before setting up and Iron Tail to give the Shadow Ball some more power and momentum.
Crobat saw the oncoming Shadow Ball, doubting his ability to avoid the attack. He was far from hopeful of withstanding such a powerful hit.
"Don't just lie there! Get up and use Toxic!" Cyrus snapped, infuriated by Crobat's lack of desire to move.
Crobat mustered all the energy he had to take flight again and he quickly flew to be above Glaceon, readying to use Toxic as his trainer had asked.
"Glaceon, use Ice Beam and make yourself something to slide on!" Kyra called, knowing that call for a defensive move wouldn't be enough to stop Toxic.
Glaceon fired an Ice Beam at the ground in front of her and she managed to glide across it and out of the way of Crobat's Toxic. The sliding had worked well, it had helped match Crobat's previously much faster speed. "Kyra, we need to keep this up. The more ice I have to slide on, the more chance I stand here. I know it's risky since Weavile will be out next and Lucario doesn't like the ice, but maybe we can find a way of using it to our advantage."
Kyra listened to Glaceon suggestion as she slid around on the ice to try and out manoeuvre Crobat and his Toxic. Lucario nodded to show she was OK with the plan going ahead and Kyra passed that on to Glaceon.
But it was too late. Crobat managed to land a Toxic just as Kyra was about to make her call.
Glaceon yelped as Toxic hit her, not only was she in pain from the poison, but she was also now on a time limit. Granted, Crobat could only take so much more damage, but Glaceon didn't have much time to work with.
