As planned last night, Kyra, Nate, and Willow got up early to do some training before going to face Fantina. Nate and Willow were both looking forward to facing Fantina again and hoped that this Gym Battle would be more of a success. Kyra on the other hand was worried she would fail her pokémon once more as she had done last time.
"You know, maybe it's a better idea if we take on Fantina tomorrow. I don't think I'm ready to take her on again yet," Kyra suggested as the group ate breakfast with their pokémon.
Nate and Willow could guess what Kyra's concerns were. But they knew that the longer Kyra held of challenging Fantina again, the less likely she would be to challenge her to a rematch.
Before Nate or Willow could try and dissuade Kyra from holding off the Gym Battle, Kyra's phone notified her of having a message and she read it.
It was a message from Lucian. Firstly Lucian was checking in on Kyra after what had happened with Luxray, secondly to ask her for her help. There had been word of Team Galactic in Eterna City, and since they used a lot of Bug and Dark Types, Lucian didn't feel confident enough to take them on with his Psychic Types. Not only did it give Kyra the extra time she needed to ground herself before taking on Fantina, Kyra also very much had a score to settle with Team Galactic after what they had done to her pokémon.
Kyra replied to say she would fly to Eterna City on Gliscor right away, telling Lucian that everything was fine now and she was practically back to her normal self. Nate and Willow knew they wouldn't be able to change Kyra's mind now, especially since Team Galactic were who she would be taking down.
Kyra's pokémon all felt the same way about Team Galactic, they would help their trainer any way they could if it meant they could avenge what they had done to Lucario, Eevee, and Luxray.
"And she's gone again. That girl never takes a break," Willow sighed, neither she nor Nate had got a word in edgeways about Kyra taking Team Galactic on.
"It wouldn't be Kyra if she took a break, you and I both know that we'd worry more if Kyra did start taking breaks. She'll have Lucian with her remember, they've always got on well and maybe he'll also give her some confidence against Fantina," Nate replied, hoping Willow would stop worrying so much for Kyra.
Willow laughed slightly, "True, she doesn't know the meaning of taking a break. I just hope this doesn't end badly for her. Anyway, enough stressing, how about we train against each other, now that we both have six pokémon again," she suggested.
Nate agreed to the idea, it would do both of them good to take each other on in a friendly six on six.
Meanwhile, Kyra was flying on Gliscor whilst Lucario and Eevee flew on Gabite. Gliscor could have very easily have taken all three of them, but Kyra had let Gabite take her partners so he could get some flying in too. It wasn't too long of a flight to Eterna City, over a low part of Mount Coronet then simply following the Cycling Road to Eterna City.
It was quite nostalgic flying back over the places where Kyra had met Gliscor and Gabite, remembering how Eevee had hatched too at the most inconvenient time. The four pokémon were glad to see their trainer genuinely happy again, the first time they had seen her in her current state since their last group training session.
Kyra had Gliscor land near the statues, she had become a lot better with landing now she was a Gliscor and Kyra wasn't as worried about the potential damage to the statues. Gabite landed first however and let Lucario and Eevee off of her back, seeming to guide Gliscor down to make sure she didn't hurt herself. Kyra knew the two were close and this confirmed her theory, Gliscor and Gabite always wanted the best for one another, giving her an idea about how she wanted to challenge Fantina tomorrow.
