THE COUNSELING.
Today's my tenth birthday. The party will be elegant, grandiose, and well-prepared by Mommy's meticulous choices. I woke up this morning with a bright mood. Daddy was there at my bedside when I woke up. He greeted me a very sweet happy birthday that added more to the happiness I feel.
Taon-taon akong masaya. Araw-araw akong masaya. Nagiging special lang ang pagiging masaya ko during my birthday. Every year on my birthday, I am the happiest child that ever existed in this world. Walang palya. Ever since I came into this world, naging special na ang birthday ko.
Gaya ngayon.
Pagkalabas ko ng kuwarto, with Daddy carefully holding my little hand, sinalubong agad kami ni Mommy ng cake at hawak naman ni Yaya Shelly, my nanny for ten years, ang super pink balloons to back up Mommy's little surprise.
"Happy birthday, Kiara. Happy birthday, Kiara. Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday, Kiara!" they sang in unison.
"Happy birthday, my niña," Daddy greeted sweetly.
"Happy birthday, anak. Blow your candles now."
Inilapit ni Mommy sa akin ang cake na dala niya kaya I innocently close my eyes and wish for something I still want every year... a happy family, a happy life, and an abundant year.
"I wish that Mommy and Daddy will stay together until forever and they will give me little sister and little brother now," dagdag na wish ko and purposely say it out loud para marinig nina Mommy and Daddy ang wish ko.
I then opened my eyes and blew the candles.
"Happy birthday sa pinakamagandang alaga ko," sabi ni Yaya Shelly as she handed me the balloons she's been holding pa kanina.
"Thank you po, Yaya Shelly. Thank you rin po, Mom and Dad!" pareho kong niyakap ang parents ko nang ma-free ang kamay ni Mommy since ibinigay niya ang cake na hawak niya kay Yaya. "I love you both po!"
"We love you too, anak," sabi ni Mommy matapos damhin ang yakap ko.
"Are you ready for your party later, my niña?"
"Yes po, Daddy! Super excited na po ako!"
Daddy always calls me My niña. He said that niña is a spanish term for a girl child. At dahil anak daw niya ako, my niña ang tawag niya sa akin. He wants me to feel that I'm really special kaya lahat ibinibigay niya sa akin, lahat ng pagmamahal ay nakukuha ko sa kaniya nang walang kaagaw na kapatid. 'Yong wish ko kanina? It was half-meant kasi ayoko naman talagang magkaroon ng kapatid.
It made my child heart happy. Para akong nasa cloud nine. I've been in a happy moments in my entire life but nothing could beat the moments I had whenever it's my birthday. There was never a dull moment in my life.
