song: Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
3rd pov
y/n sat in a library chair, ignoring the loud explosions that had been going off outside for the past hour.
nobody was in the library, he was positive it wasn't even open, but he needed answers and he couldn't wait until loki was done taking over the city.
he sighed and turned the page of his 5th book out of many.
he had read about loki turning into a horse to mate with one, and then gave birth to an eight legged horse. like— what the fuck loki.
he also read that apparently he has a wolf son, which doesn't make any sense either.
y/n rubbed his eyes as he took in all of the lore. he didn't know if he could even call it lore anymore, it's basically history. he was hoping that most of it was fake though, he wouldn't be able to look at loki the same if the horse story was true.
2nd pov
after hours and hours if reading and researching about norse mythology, you realized that the explosions outside stopped. you set down the last book you had picked out and leaned back in your chair.
it was night now, the city an eerie silent. you placed the books in the return center and walked through the broken glass door if the library.
officers were still on patrol, rescue teams searching through ruins to find any civilians.
the city was in devastation, buildings destroyed, lives lost, homes crumbled to the ground. you looked at it all, at the chaos the god of mischief created.
you assumed that loki had been defeated, since you didn't see giant statues of him being built or any insignia being draped across every surface.
interviews of survivors played on every screen you passed, talking about the avengers and there heroic actions.
you decided to go home. to the apartment you owned that you hadn't been to in a week.
you hailed a cab and got in, giving the driver your address. you realized you didn't have any money on you, and wouldn't be able to pay the fair.
the taxi driver turned and looked at you, and sighed as he realized you weren't going to pay. you sat for a moment, thinking of how you could pay him back.
"do you happen to have a pen and paper?" you asked, and the man grunted as he turned around.
he turned back around with what you had asked, and you scribbled down the number to nick fury's phone.
"call this number, and you should be compensated." you got out of the taxi and walked into the apartment complex, greeting the front desk lady and entering the elevator.
you realized that fury probably had men waiting for you at your apartment. waiting for you to open your front door so they can aim their guns at you like you're a monster.
but when you opened your door, no one was there waiting for you. the living space was completely untouched.
you were still uneasy, peaking behind every corner before you passed it. you made it to your room and saw that it was empty and untouched as well.
you hummed, sitting at your desk, a shield laptop sitting on it. a little bit of dust had collected on the surface, and you drew a smily face in it with your finger.
you opened it and it powered up
immediately. now that you had learned about the people you were apparently related to, you needed to find out how one goes about getting to asgard.
