song: gettin' jiggy wit it - will smith
3rd pov
y/n spent most of his time at frigga's memorial, sitting as he reminisced in the memories he made with frigga in the short time he knew her.
"y/n."
he heard a voice call. he turned around and saw thor, loki standing beside him. his eyes softened upon seeing the darker prince, he still felt guilty for not being able to save frigga.
"is it time?" y/n asked, and thor nodded sternly. y/n stood up slowly and took a deep breath. he kissed his hand placed in the cold stone with frigga's name on it. he stood for a moment, still finding it difficult to leave her behind.
he gave it one last glance before turning around and walking to the two asgardian princes.
"y/n, what weapons did sif and the warriors three train you with?" thor asked. he led loki and y/n through the palace as they ducked behind columns every time a guard appeared.
"mostly with sword. it was what i was the best at, why?" y/n asked.
thor didn't answer, and he pushed open two large doors. y/n looked around in fascination at the room. the walls were decorated with weapons of all kinds. thor motioned to the wall full of swords.
"pick the one that speaks to you the most," thor said, looking to y/n who stared back nervously.
he's just supposed to... pick one? it's supposed to speak to him? what? y/n slowly approached the tall wall and stared up at it. he looked among all of the swords, but none of them "spoke" to him. he reached for a random one when he saw something glint in the corner of his eye.
a sword with a golden hilt and a shining silver blade. it was long and thin, and y/n could sense a darkness within it as he walked closer to it.
he ran his finger along the blade, and it sent tingles up his arm and down his spine.
"i would not pick that sword, brother," thor said, and y/n turned around to look at him.
thor sighed. "that is tyrfing. it is cursed so that you may not sheath it until it has a taken a life. it holds great power, but the cost is not worth it."
y/n pulled it off of the wall anyways.
"has anyone ever tried just like-- killing a bug? does that count as taking a life?" y/n said, attaching it to his waist.
thor stared at him in disbelief and loki had to cover his mouth to stifle a laugh.
thor scowled and pointed at loki and y/n. "you two spend too much time together."
y/n smiled innocently and loki just turned and looked at the ground, hiding his face. they continued sneaking down the halls, avoiding guards.
"you could furnish me with a weapon, you know. my dagger, something," loki whined, upset that y/n got a weapon and he didn't.
thor rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket.
"at last." loki smiled. "a little common sense."
though, loki's smile didn't last long. he felt cold metal clasp around his wrists and looked down to see that thor had cuffed him.
he glared at thor.
"and i thought you liked tricks." thor cackled. y/n giggled to himself as quietly as he could, but loki still heard it.
when y/n caught loki's evil glare, he shrugged. "he got you."
loki huffed and turned away.
the three stood and waited anxiously. they turned as they heard footsteps, and sif walking with jane behind her.
