y/n was in a half-asleep half-awake state, the only thing in his mind was how content and warm he was. he could feel loki's arms around him and the fan of loki's breath on his neck. surely he was in heaven, or maybe he was dre—
y/n shot up with a start at the sudden blaring of an alarm. he rolled over and out of the bed, but ended up tangling himself in the sheets and blankets and oh so gracefully tumbled to the ground. he wasted no time trying to free himself from his cotton prison, his mind running five thousand miles. in his experience, alarms always meant imminent danger.
loki was rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, not even aware of y/n's dilemma. his eyes were blurry with sleep —something he hadn't gotten in so long— and when he finally mentally came to y/n was standing in the middle of the room, tense and alert.
loki immediately recognized the body language and rolled out of bed to rush to y/n's side and aid in his comfort.
a voice rang out and created an unpleasant dissonance with the blaring alarm. y/n and loki both groaned when they recognized the voice.
"sakaar, hear ye. attention please." the grandmaster didn't seem too pleased, his voice didn't hold it's usual amusement. "i have some bad news."
y/n and loki both shared a glance, waiting for the grandmaster to continue.
"my beloved exalted champion has turned up missing. take to the streets! celebrate my champion," the grandmaster said.
loki stood up straighter and brushed his hair out of his face with a grand sigh. "something tells me thor has something to do with all of this."
y/n relaxed a bit, realizing he wasn't the reason the alarms were going off for once.
"probably. i'm just glad it isn't because of me this time," he sighed, putting his hands on his hips.
"it seems that that criminally seductive lord of thunder has stolen him away," the grandmaster continued over the intercoms.
y/n snickered. "i bet being referred to as lord of thunder really pisses thor off."
"oh, it most certainly does." loki smiled wickedly. "i was there when the grandmaster said it to his face, if thor wasn't stuck to that chair im positive he would've throttled him."
"that would be a beautiful sight to see," y/n said.
a knock at loki's door made the both of them turn to it.
loki opened the door and y/n peaked over his shoulder to see who had knocked.
y/n recognized the woman as the one who had brought thor to the grandmaster. behind her stood many sakaarian guards.
"the grandmaster's pissed. let's go," she said curtly, spinning on her heal and continuing down the long hall.
loki turned back to see the apprehensive look on y/n's face and gently took his hand in his.
"don't worry, we'll be okay," loki reassured him, and y/n responded with a weak smile. they followed behind scrapper 142 and the guards.
loki tugged them forward so that they were walking beside the scrapper.
the anxiety y/n felt seemed to have sped up the process in which they arrived to the grandmaster's room, the heels of their shoes clicking loudly against the overly-polished flooring.
y/n glared darkly at the grandmaster.
"i'm upseeet!" the grandmaster whined as they all stopped a few feet before him. "i'm very upset."
