song: should i stay or should i go - the clash
3rd pov
y/n was humming as he laid on the small bed in his cell, tracing shapes into the ceiling with his eyes.
"y/n," someone said.
y/n sat up to see frigga standing outside of his cell.
"frigga! how are you doing?" y/n asked happily, the two of them having got to know each other a little bit.
frigga smiled gently.
"i'm well, and you?" she returned the question.
"i'm fine, just a little restless," y/n answered truthfully, scratching the back of his neck.
"well, i came here to see to it that you are released. odin has finally agreed to let you out," frigga said, nodding to the guard outside the cell. they turned off force field and y/n stood in shock.
he slowly walked forward, and carefully put his hand through the empty space of where the wall used to be. he smiled and stepped out fully, feeling a weight lift off him as he realized he would no longer be confined in that small cell.
loki, who was eves dropping, as always, and quickly looked back down at his book when frigga and y/n passed by his cell. he felt y/n's eyes on him, and fought the urge to stare back up at him.
he would never admit it, but he'd miss y/n's company.
y/n and frigga walked down the corridor of the dungeon, passing guards who were leading in prisoners by the lot.
"odin has let you out on one condition, that lady sif or one of the warriors three is always in your company," frigga explained.
y/n just nodded, having only a slight idea of who those people were.
they finally arrived back up in the palace, and y/n deliberately avoided looking in odin's direction.
sif and the warriors three stood at odin's side.
"vidar," odin called out, and y/n looked at him disdainfully.
"i wish to not be called by that name," y/n said.
odin stared down at him. "very well. y/n, you are to be supervised by lady sif or one of the warriors three at all times. if you leave their sight or try to run away you will be imprisoned permanently."
y/n sighed heavily, clenching his jaw as he stared at the all father.
"fine," y/n said, folding his arms.
"you are dismissed," odin said, and y/n relaxed a tiny bit.
sif and the warriors three all jumped down from odin's side and ran towards y/n.
"i call dibs! dibs on fighting him!" sif shouted, grabbing y/n's arm and started running out of the throne room.
"wait! lady sif, please! i cannot fight, please!" y/n pleaded with the woman, and she stopped to turn to him for a moment.
"why can't you fight? are you injured?" she asked, and y/n suddenly felt inferior to everyone in the room. he never learned to fight because fury wouldn't let him. he felt anger towards fury, realizing just how much he'd been lied to by the director.
y/n sighed, staring at the floor in embarrassment. "no, i'm not injured. i just never learned how to fight."
sif, hogun, fandral, and volstagg all gaped at him. this made his cheeks feel hotter than they already were.
"are you serious? you are vidar odinson! the god of vengeance! a god! and you have no skill in combat?" volstagg, shouted, unable to believe that y/n couldn't fight.
