HAPPY 50th CHAPTER
3rd pov
"ladies and gentlemen, i give you... lord of thunder!"
loki watched as thor stepped through the entrance, mismatched armor placed among his body, and his hair. oh my, his hair.
the corner of loki's mouth twitched upwards upon sight thor's hair. he definitely doesn't look very happy about it.
"watch for his fingers, they make sparks! okay, this is it!" the grandmaster said, the crowd booed at thor. he glared at them in return.
"let's get ready to welcome this guy," the grandmaster said excitedly, wiggling in excitement, "here he comes!"
fireworks shot into the air, exploding into clouds of green smoke. the crowd cheered louder in anticipation. thor stumbled as he felt the ground rumble, and he turned to look across the stadium at the other doors.
"he is.. a creature— what can we say about him? well, he's unique! there's none like him, i feel a special connection with him," the grandmaster trailed on.
thor flicked something in his hand, and it opened up into a helmet. he stared straight forward and put the helmet it on, locking it into place as he glared at the doors ahead of him. waiting.
"he's undefeated! he's the reigning, he's the defending... ladies and gentlemen! i give you the incredible...!"
loki grinned in anticipation. he looked forward to seeing thor get his ass handed to him. and it was nice, having his mind taken off of things for awhile.
the doors opened slowly, and whoever was behind them smashed them the rest of the way open.
"huuuulk!!" the hulk shouted, raising his arms up and nodding as the crowd screamed his name.
loki's smile disappeared. it was his arch nemesis, the subject of his many nightmares, the one being who he truly wished to never come across again. of all the quadrillions of life forms across the cosmos, and the grandmasters champion had to be the hulk. of course! because honestly, after this, loki's life couldn't possibly get any worse. lovely. absolutely splendid.
though he felt he should be grateful, for he wasn't the one in the ring with the hulk.
thor couldn't help but smile widely and cheer for the hulk himself. yes! how lucky he was.
"yes!" he shouted, absolutely ecstatic.
the crowd stopped cheering, confused as to why the man who was about to be absolutely decimated by their beloved hulk was cheering in delight.
loki backed away from the large window.
"i have to get off of this planet," he said to himself, turning around and walking as fast as he could to the exit.
the grandmaster appeared in front of him and put his hands in his chest, and loki had to resist the urge to shove him out of the way.
"hey! woah, woah! where are you going? getting cold feet?" the grandmaster asked.
loki took a deep breath, smiling at the grandmaster.
"of course not," he said, keeping his voice level even though he was screaming internally.
"good! because you're not going to believe what i have planned for the post-main-event-event! i have just the prettiest man i've ever laid my eyes on," the grandmaster said, turning loki around and placing a hand on his upper back, leading him back to the front of the vip booth.
loki couldn't care any less about this post-main-event-event, but he had to pretend to be intrigued. he'd do anything to prevent sharing the same fate as thor.
