3rd pov

the hotel door slammed open and y/n shot up out of his bed, summoning tyrfing. the titans that served under thanos had broken into the room, one already on loki. y/n ran and tackled the titan off of loki, stabbing his sword into their chest and turning to kick the other one running towards him.

loki grunted and y/n looked back to see loki pinned to the wall by one of the titan's spears, it sticking through the center of his chest.

"no!" y/n screamed, shoving the titan away and yanking the spear out of loki's chest, gently loweing him to the ground.

he was quick to start healing loki, not even stopping to defend himself as the titans began attacking him. one of the titans picked up the spear used to stab loki and shoved it through y/n's back, making him cry out.

loki's skin began melting off of his face and all that was left was his skull, his body erupted in fla—

y/n shot up panting and sweating. with every draw of breath it felt like he was inhaling fire. he was trembling violenty and his sweat made his shirt stick to his skin. y/n reached tapped the screen of his phone to check the time and saw that it read 5:33 a.m.

he sighed and buried his hands in his face, then pulled his hair back away from his forehead before dropping his hands back into his lap. his breathing had calmed and his heart rate steadied. he took a deep breath and slowly exhaled it, then peeled off his blanket and slipped out of bed.

he grabbed a change of clothes and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door quietly so he didn't disturb loki's sleep.

by the time y/n was out of the shower, loki was already awake and dressed. he was out on the balcony, outlooking the city below. y/n grabbed a cigarette out of the pack in his coat pocket and lit it as he opened the door to the balcony. he leaned up against the railing and took a drag of his cigarette.

"why do you do that?" loki asked, eyes watching the cars below them slowly pass by.

"what, smoke?" y/n asked, turning to look at loki.

the dim sunlight cast a yellow-ish glow on his face and framed his features. y/n shivered and looked away as the memory if his nightmare passed through his mind.

"yes. it's a destructive habit, is it not?" loki asked.

"maybe it won't do anything to me, i'm not human," y/n said, taking another drag.

"are you hoping that it does?" loki asked, turning to look at y/n. y/n closed his eyes, not trusting himself to not stare at loki through the corner of his eyes.

y/n's lack of a response gave loki his answer. he sighed and looked back down at the busy streets of the city.

"have you seen anyone else since you left?" loki asked out of the blue.

y/n's head shot to loki, his eyebrows furrowed and his lips pulled into a frown.

"no." y/n shook his head, scratching his eyebrow with his thumb and putting more weight on the balcony railing as he turned to face loki. he looked at the ground as he thought for a moment, loki taking the time to study his features.

"i didn't leave so i could see other people, loki, i left because—"

y/n paused, his breath hitching a bit. he grew a pained expression and took a long, long drag from his cigarette. he sighed, smoke seeping from his lips, and put his cigarette out on the ashtray beside him.

"we need to checkout of the hotel and leave, our train leaves in 45 minutes," y/n said, turning abruptly and leaving loki alone on the balcony.
