"it's a bit scary," thor said as he and loki carefully carried y/n back to the infirmary.

"what is?" loki asked, turning to look at thor.

"y/n's strength. i can't break the glass of those cells, not without mjolnir," thor explained, "not to mention he's bullet proof."

loki turned forward again and chewed his lip.

"i suppose you need that kind of strength when you're the god of vengeance," loki said, chuckling a bit.

"it's easy to forget that he's a god. that he's a son of odin. vidar," thor said.

they walked into the infirmary and gently laid y/n back on hospital bed. nurses ran to him immediately and untied his hospital gown.

thor and loki moved out of the way and watched with frowns on their faces. they, loki especially, were barely able to contain the rage they felt at the scars that lined his chest.

the nurses gently peeled y/n blood soaked bandages off and thor had to turn away when he saw what laid beneath them.

loki stared in horror at y/n stomach. the first few layers of his skin had been burned off, deep wounds and gashes were torn open and bleeding.

he sighed, wishing that his powers hadn't been limited. he felt angry at stark for putting such vile things on him, to devoid him of his power.

he would have already been using healing magic on y/n. y/n would already be healed and healthy.

everyone had obeyed y/n, they didn't put loki back in a cell. but one of the avengers had to supervise loki at all times, which got very annoying very fast.

not for loki, but for the avengers. for what little magic he was able to use, it was enough to constantly mess with and tease them.

making a cup or a plate of food disappear, creating illusions of bugs to buzz in everyone's ears. tickle their noses and make them sneeze.

the only thing loki hated was that they didn't let him sit with y/n, who hadn't woken up in days.

the nurses and doctors told everyone not worry, that his body was just letting him catch up on very much needed rest.

but that didn't really calm loki's nerves. they let him see y/n for one hour everyday, but it never felt like enough. they were generous enough to leave him alone in the room, but they did have to stand outside the door the whole time.

loki would hold y/n's hand and talk to him about the different pranks he'd pull on the avengers, and how funny it was when they got angry. loki expressed his frustrations on how difficult it was to get steve to snap.

loki was sat in a chair next to y/n, resting his head on the bed, mesmerized by the slow rising and falling of y/n's chest. his fingers were intertwined with y/n's and he sighed, tracing every feature of y/n's face with his eyes.

y/n's entire body jolted. loki sat up in alarm, eyes scanning over y/n to see if something was wrong with him.

y/n flinched again, and his heart rate picked up quickly.

"not working," y/n mumbled, his eyebrows furrowed. a small layer of sweat began forming on his body.

"weak." y/n fisted the sheets as his face scrunched up. "i'm too weak."
