song: i feel it coming - the weeknd

3rd pov

after that moment they shared, loki started avoiding y/n. any time y/n tried to speak to him, he would find a reason to leave, and he spent most of his time hiding in his bedroom.

at first y/n thought he had done something to anger him, and decided it would be best if he left loki alone. but it had been a more than a week now, and y/n was growing angry at loki, finding it extremely immature of him to avoid his problems.

loki sat in his room, feeling guilty about ignoring and avoiding y/n. he didn't want to, but how could he look y/n in the eye after everything he's done? how does he even deserve to be in y/n's presence after how much he hurt him?

he was punishing himself by isolating himself from the things he loved. he didn't let himself read, and he didn't let himself enjoy y/n's company. he sat in his room and did nothing all day.

but that wasn't the only thing. he was truly terrified of what y/n would think of him if he ever found out who he was. he wouldn't be able to survive hearing y/n say that he hated him. he'd never be able to bear the pain that came with the rejection from the one person he cherished.

so he rejected y/n first, to protect himself from the hardship and pain that came with loving someone. which didn't make sense, because he's suffering the same pain by doing it. loki is being very very dumb. so dumb. get it together, loki. geez.

loki was sat on his bed when he heard a knock at his door. he knew who it was immediately. loki didn't answer. he'd hoped that if he stayed quiet enough, y/n would take the hint and leave.

y/n opened the door. the lord was not on loki's side today, it seems. how surprising.

loki refused to look at y/n, who had now closed the door behind him and stared at loki.

"loki," y/n said, surprisingly calm. loki still didn't acknowledge him.

y/n moved into loki's line of sight. loki turned away.

"loki!" y/n said a little louder, jumping into loki's sight again. loki closed his eyes. y/n groaned in frustration, and plopped down in the chair on the corner of loki's bedroom.

"did i do something, loki?" y/n asked, loki opened his eyes to glance at y/n quickly, only to look away just as fast.

"no," loki muttered. he heard y/n stand up and he felt the bed incline with a new weight.

"did somebody say something to you?" y/n questioned, his voice a lot closer than before. loki felt himself grow irritated at the constant questions.

"no," loki said, a little more curt this time.

he turned his body and stood up off of his bed and walked to the window, staring out of it to avoid looking at y/n. the sun was setting below the horizon, giving everything it's light touched a peach orange glow.

"then why, loki? why are you doing this?" y/n asked, getting up off of the bed as well. loki heard his footsteps grow closer until they were right behind him.

loki swallowed. "i'm not doing anything."

"yes, you are! why are you avoiding me?" y/n pleaded, his voice getting louder with every word.

loki whispered something that he couldn't hear.

"what?" y/n asked.

"i said it's because i don't deserve you!" loki shouted, whipping around aggressively to look back at y/n.

y/n flinched and took a step back at his sudden shout, and he could see guilt flash beneath loki's hard stare before he covered it up. loki looked to the floor and shook his head.
