Chapter 12 - U.A. Sports Festival Arc - Run! Part 1

Class 1-A were in the waiting room, waiting for when it's their turn to go out there to the stadium. Some of them were nervous, some of them were calm, and some were overly excited about being noticed. This event was the nation's most looked forward event after all; it's an event where opportunities will be offered in various ways for one's future if they want to become a Pro Hero or something else.

"Looking at things objectively, I think I am stronger than you." 

"Y-yeah..." 

Poor Midoriya was being declared war against by Todoroki. 

Todoroki Shouto, youngest son of the No.2 Hero, Endeavor, declared war against Midoriya who had All Might looking closely at him. Todoroki said he had no intentions of prying into Midoriya's business as to why All Might looked at Midoriya's way but he's going to beat Midoriya in this event. 

"Oh? Is the best in the class making a declaration of war?" Kaminari said, not really doing anything to intervene. 

Kirishima stood up from his seat with a frown, "Hey, hey, hey, why are you picking a fight all of a sudden? Not now, we're about to start!" From Todoroki's point of view, he viewed Midoriya as someone he wanted to beat in the event but in other Kirishima's point of view, doesn't this look like sort of hazing against Midoriya, the little guy? Kirishima put a hand on Todoroki's shoulder in hopes to stop him but Todoroki elbowed away the other's hand

"We're not here to play at being friends. So what does it matter?" 

But that doesn't mean Midoriya will look down and take the words and let it get him down. Midoriya told Todoroki that he will not lose and that he couldn't afford to be left behind. Todoroki might want to beat him but Midoriya assured him that he won't go down without a fight with his all! Midoriya saw that it wasn't just them, the other students from other classes outside of the Hero Course will be climbing their way to the top with everything they have so he could not afford to just give up even if the odds were against him! 

"I'll be going at it with everything I have too." Midoriya said to Todoroki with his head held up high. 

"Yeah." Todoroki replied back to him. However, Todoroki wasn't done. There's someone in this waiting room he had to speak to. Todoroki doesn't think his dual Quirk was the strongest. There's someone in here who had a Quirk that was a literal enemy to his. "Michiyo." 

Michiyo was sitting against the locker, her head buried in her arms as she leaned against her knees. 

Todoroki knew Michiyo was strong; diamonds have an extremely high melting point; if a fire user were to melt her, they'd be burning themselves too. As for freezing diamonds...that's an almost impossible task too. "If you're not going to be serious about being here then you should quit before it even starts." But he disliked Michiyo's weak and shy personality. She had such a great Quirk but her personality just doesn't go with it. 

"Hah?!" Kirishima couldn't believe Todoroki went from Midoriya to Michiyo! "It's not manly to pick on girls, Todoroki-" 

"It doesn't matter if she is a girl or not. Fact is we all know she is strong but she always plays it weak. It's irritating."

"Heh, I like how you're threatened by diamonds of all things, Todoroki. Then again, if I were you and I knew someone timid had an advantage over me, I'd be embarrassed too." Ranfa stood in front of Todoroki. So far, none of the girls openly declared any wars against the male classmates, she thought she'd be the first and the last one to do that. 

"Hah? Who told you I am embarrassed? I just think if she is not serious, she shouldn't be be competing and wasting her time."

"Who is being serious and who isn't serious...why don't we let the results decide that?"
