Michiyo treated it like she's on holiday. She refused to touch the phones because she refused to act like a Hero. She wanted to be a normal person because she couldn't be a Hero in a world where she couldn't make her wish come true. What meaning was there for her to become a Hero if the one person she wanted to be saved wanted to be saved in a way she couldn't accept?
"Michiyo." Ranfa went to check on her sister. "A moment?"
"Hm. Onee, you're resting?"
"For now. How are you holding up?"
"Hm. Am I disappointing you? I must be disappointing you..."
Ranfa sat next to her. The twins watched the sea. It's a beautiful day but one of them couldn't truly enjoy it because of the clouds in their mind. If the mind was like the sky then Michiyo's sky's full of clouds and it's about to rain.
"Michiyo, whatever you decide to do, you will always be my little sister. Whatever you can't do, I'll make up for it for you. So if you want to give up being a Hero, I will pick up the pieces for you."
"Onee..." Michiyo hugged her knees close to her chest. She wished she could be strong and resolute like Ranfa. "Onee, I want to save someone who could not be saved. He's convinced he can only be saved if I kill him. He's going to kill so much people in the future...I know that. Yet, I want to save him. Am I wrong in wanting to save him?"
"I don't know the villain I killed. Perhaps if I shared a bond with him maybe even I will hesitate. I can kill him because there was no connection to make me hesitate. For you, having shared some happy memories with Dabi, it will be hard for you to kill him."
Michiyo didn't know even Ranfa will hesitate. To her, Ranfa could do anything if she put her mind to it. "Then what should I do?"
"If I tell you killing him is saving him, will you really do it?"
Michiyo stared at Ranfa. What should she say?
Ranfa smiled at Michiyo's reaction and she patted her sister's head. "Michiyo, you ask me these questions but you've missed out the most important person to ask these things."
"The most important person to ask this?" Suddenly, she thought about Todoroki. "Shouto?"
"No, not him." Ranfa didn't say it out loud but she thought it was very adorable Michiyo thought about Todoroki. "Until you figure out who this person is, you won't be able to go forward, Michiyo. Believe in yourself a little more, little sister. Just like the way I believe you. Even if it's a little, it's okay to believe in yourself even if you know the world is against you."
"Onee..." Michiyo smiled a little, "For some reason, talking to Onee always makes me happy."
"I'm the older sister after all. When the little sister is down, the older sister will come in and help them."
"But we're the same age?"
"It doesn't matter. I came to this world first so the big sister title is mine and I don't plan to abandon it."
Hearing Ranfa will always be by her side made her feel happy. She will still have her sister if she's a Hero or not. Michiyo felt at ease about her decision about not being a Hero. She's happy...but what's this feeling gnawing at her? The more she wished to ignore it, the more it kept appearing in the corner of her mind.
