I had to add a tad bit of angst just for spice 😃 But overall happy vibes

-------------------------

Taylor couldn't sleep. In fact, she was practically manic. It was 4 am and in just 20 hours she would finally marry the man of her dreams. She'd tried to sleep. Honestly, she had, but it was impossible. Taylor couldn't shake the feeling that if she did manage it, everything would be gone when she woke up. The blonde woman still couldn't believe she deserved this much happiness.

Taylor tossed and turned in bed, tearing up her covers and knocking her Gray plushies on to the floor. Part of her problem was that Joe wasn't there with her. The couple had been living together for a while now yet their friends had refused to let him stay in their house last night, insisting it was bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. So, they had forced him to sleep at the apartment and Taylor never slept well when he was away.

Her friends were due at the house around 8 am and Taylor knew they'd never forgive her if she looked exhausted, but she couldn't help it. She'd dreamed of this day since the second she'd laid eyes on Joe Alwyn. How was it possible to sleep in that situation?

Giving up, Taylor climbed out of bed and got in the shower. She allowed herself to relax under the warm water, enjoying the feeling of moisture on her skin.

When she finally got out, she put on a robe and wandered through the house trying to figure out how to best pass the time, but she got lucky around 5 am when the cavalry arrived. Assuming that Taylor wouldn't be able to sleep, her friends had come early bearing breakfast and everything needed to transform Taylor into a bride

There were few things Taylor hated more than makeovers. Even back on the when she was young, she'd rather be learning a new song on the guitar and coming up with random poetic lyrics.

The only time she ever allowed herself to be picked at and primped for something other than work was under the hands of Selena or Gigi. The stylists? Hell no. They were about as fashionable as wooden boards slapped with colorful fabrics.

"It's your wedding," Selena pleaded with her. "Can't we do something about this?" She picked up a frayed lock of blonde that grew from Taylor's head. "Maybe we should do something more subtle to go with the dress?"

Taylor might have said yes at any other time, but it hadn't even been a month since her engagement, and everyone had gone nuts with planning – Selena included. "I'm not a Cinderella doll," she said, and Sel frowned at her, brow furrowed. "I want to feel like . . . me."

Selena just nodded along. "Okay, I get it, but at least let me give you a new hairdo. I needs the practice."

Taylor had to hold back a yawn. "You're the maid of honor, so I'll leave that to you. Just tell me where and when to show up, and I'll go."

Her best friend brightened at the words and clasped her hands together. "Oh, really, Tay?, I'm so excited!"

She couldn't deny Selena her fun.

As Selena flipped through books of hairstyle shots to decide on different options, Taylor watched the flat screen television in her living room. She blew out a bubble from the gum she was chewing – and then nearly choked as she saw her own face appear onscreen. It was a head shot from the day the met gala, right before the epic dance party that had left her feet aching for days.

"Former country kid Taylor Swift has been spotted by her lonesome for the last few weeks, and we have to wonder: can it be that there's trouble in paradise? Actor Joe Alwyn has been making the rounds for his upcoming nuptials by personally inviting the celebrity attendees from surrounding nations, but Taylor has been MIA. What does this spell for the young couple and their budding future? A little bird told us that Taylor is in meltdown mode, quite the Pampered Princess Bride, and has shrugged off her work for—"
