Chapter 22: Regrouping

"As members of the Fujimi Academy, at this moment of crisis. We must keep our pride!"

Shido loudly exclaimed to the students sitting at the back of the bus. Looking at him like he was their god and source of light. Making him flash a sinister grin on his face as he saw the state of the students. Like they will listen to him no matter what he says.

"That's right! We must keep our pride! That's why Hiroto, Busujima, and Miyamoto who left the bus aren't part of our team to behin with! We must stick together and reorganize our group for survival. We must work together as one since we all belonged to the same academy"

He said as he exaggeratedly swung his arms in front of him like he was conducting. Making Takagi who was sitting with Hirano at the front to look at him with a frown.

"... He's insane"

She said as she fixed her glasses. Making Takashi sigh, regretting for bringing him along as he saw how he brainwashed the rest of the students.

"It's like I'm watching a recruitment for a fanatic cult"

"Like? No, it's exactly what it is"

Takagi commented before glancing at the students listening to Shido with a disgusted expression on her face.

"Look at the people listening to his crap. It's like we're witnessing the birth of the Shido cult"

She said, causing Takashi to let out an exhausted sigh before looking outside the windows. Seeing the heavy traffic in front of them with a frown on his face.

"... I'm a bit worried about those 3... and with the situation outside. I doubt we wil be able to escape this place and arrive at the meeting place on time... We might need to leave this bus..."

Takashi said before glancing at the 3 members of their group.

"... We can cross the Onbetsu bridge to get to the east police station..."

He muttered while leaning against the windows of the bus. Crossing his arms in front of him as Shizuka and Hirano started intently listening to his words.

"We can also visit my and Takagi's home if we go there, since both of your houses are on the other side of the Onbetsu bridge"

He said before he glanced at Shizuka and Hirano. Remembering that he didn't even knew where they lived.

"How about you, Shizuka-sensei? Do you have anyone you want to visit?"

"Hmm... None, actually. My parents are both dead and my relatives lives far away. I just followed Hiroto and Busujima here, since I also don't want to die. They're both strong and reliable after all"

She answered while placing her index finger on her lips before showing them a light smile on her face. Making all of them glance at Hirano's direction.

"How about you, Hirano?"

"... Well... My parents are both overseas so I don't hsve anyone to visit..."

He said before he suddenly showed a timid smile on his face while both of his cheeks blushed

"I-I'll follow Takagi-san to the end of the world..."

He said, causing Takagi to take a step back as she felt a chill run down her spine. Looking at him with a tinge of disgust in her eyes like she was looking at a creep.

"Then, do you all want to leave the bus? I don't really like getting involved with that guy"

Takashi said as he pointed his thumb at Shido who was caressing the cheek of a female student who looked at him with lifeless eyes while a smile adorned her face.
