Chapter 117: A talk with Helltaker

"Thank you for taking care of us the past few years, Helltaker"

"That's what friends are for, master... and his place originally belonged to you anyway so there's really no need for you to thank me"

Helltaker said with a smile on his face while he and Hiroto sat down in his office inside the palace. Sitting opposite him while a demon wearing a maid outfit came inside and prepared a cup of tea for the two of them. Making Hiroto smile gratefully at the maid before grabbing the teacup from the table.

"How's your married life?"

"It's been doing great. Even though we don't spend that much time anymore because we're all busy managing this place. All of the talented demons in hell were taken by you after all... After Baphomet left, it's been hard maintaining our trade relations with the human realm since none of us are experts in that area"

He said before looking up to see Hiroto looking outside. Observing Helltaker's sons and daughters playing at the front of the palace with cheerful smiles on their faces along with Saeko. 

"... It looks like your fond of children, master"

"... you... could say that..."

He said before closing his eyes and bringing the teacup close to his mouth. Smelling the fragrant scent of the drink before taking a small sip. 

"I always wanted to ask this but... have you ever considered having children, master?"

Helltaker suddenly asked, causing Hiroto's hands to pause in response. Looking up at the red sky before letting out a short chuckle in response.

"Doesn't your harem ask you for one? Mine did, and they pressured me a lot just to make me agree to having children with them... did they also do the same to you?"

"... They did in the past when we we're still here... and I would be lying if I said I didn't consider it. Who wouldn't want to have a child with the woman that you love?... but my circumstances doesn't allow me to enjoy that kind of luxury right now"

He said before placing the teacup on the table and leaning back on the sofa. Looking up at the ceiling with a nostalgic expression on his face.

"They did... a lot, but after we returned back to my dimension. They rarely even mention it anymore... maybe it's because they're being considerate about my present situation... I don't hold any significant power or authority in my original dimension, unlike in this one. So, if ever we get into a war with other guilds. My own children would surely become my weaknesses so... until I can properly can a proper footing in my world, I won't be able to have children with them. I'm already more than 600 years old, Helltaker. I would be lying if I said I didn't want any children together with them"

He said, causing Hiroto to close his eyes as he knew that he was referring to his lovers. They are at the peak of strength in this world, but in his dimension.
