Chapter 28 TATVSW

Cielo's POV

She was still unconscious on the hospital bed. Matapos siyang himatayin sa gitna ng kalsada ay ka agad ko siya sinugod sa clinic ng school ng younger sister niya but then, my Lolo's bestfriend, the principal at Elizabeth's school, recommended me to bring Elishiana to the hospital because she had been unconscious for 5 hours. I was terrified earlier as I heard a gunshot, akala ko ay natamaan na siya.

My friends drove Siopao's siblings home, but James stayed with them to assure their safety since Zeus and Zion needed to return home, especially Zeus since he mentioned that he needed to visit someone, binilhan naman nila sila ng pagkain so they wouldn't go hungry.

"Ang tagal mo gumising..." I whispered, gently nudging her soft cheek. It feels just like a marshmallow. I have to hold back the urge to pinch it!

 Earlier, I was so worried when she passed out. The doctor said her blood pressure dropped suddenly, and she had trouble breathing. They also found out she was iron deficient, malnourished, and dehydrated. 

I reached for my phone and unlocked it, desperately seeking news. A trending hashtag, #StardustValleyGunshot, sent a jolt of fear through me. Stardust Valley Academy... that was Elishiana's younger sister's school. Clicking on the hashtag, images flooded my screen. Gruesome pictures, a lifeless body, and photos of Elishiana and me, thankfully with blurred faces - one of her unconscious, the other of me holding her. Other tweets displayed the weapon, bloodstains, a picture frame, and what seemed like evidence scattered at the scene. 

There is a potential that the police would question Elishiana. Geez! Bakit ba kasi ang kulit-kulit niya? Sinabihan ko na siyang huwag lumapit pero lapit pa rin nang lapit. Is this because of the Gray hair woman we saw? Nag hihinala na talaga ako sa babaeng 'yon, ano ba ang pakay niya? Lalo na kay Elishiana? Nag-aalala lang ako, eh...

I put my phone down and looked at Elishiana sleeping. She looked so calm and peaceful. Maybe that's why I like her. She seems innocent on the outside, but I know there's more to her. She's always surprising me. Hanggang ngayon hindi niya pa ako gusto...

"Would you please take care of yourself?"Tanong ko rito at marahang hinaplos ang buhok niya, suot-suot niya pa ang hairclip na bigay ko sa kaniya, dahilan upang mapangiti ako. Bumaba ang tingin ko sa labi niya hanggang sa dibdib niy--- WHAT?! No! I just saw her necklace that I had hidden before, she still wears it, huh?

"Tapos isunod kita?"Napausog ako mula sa pagkakaupo when she suddenly spoke, I also removed my fingers away from her hair, and now, her eyes were wide open, and was staring at me with a sneer on her lips. Mariin akong napalunok when she looks down on her breast.

"Aish... Mukhang hindi ako ligtas dito, ah... Hinimatay na't lahat-lahat, nagawa pa akong bosohan."I heard her whispered. 'Bosohan'? What does that mean? ang weird talaga niya, pati ng mga pananalita niya. Alien ba siya?

"Bakit ba parang interesadong-interesado ka sa dibdib ko? Gusto mo ba masilip?"Her question caught me off guard. Can't she feel any embarrassment and she just said that without any giving it a second thought?! and she can't realize that the person she's with is a man who likes her! Ang lakas ng loob niyang sabihan ako ng 'manyak' pero siya naman 'tong madulas ang dila.

Just as I was about to speak, the door creaked open. The doctor entered, his eyes immediately drawn to Elishiana. "Ah, you're awake," he said, a hint of surprise in his voice. "That's good news. I expected you to stay unconscious until tomorrow. Given your weakened state, rest is crucial." He then proceeded to examine Elishiana's condition.

The doctor didn't address me right away. He turned to Elishiana, asking her a series of questions. Earlier, the doctor questioned me, one of them, I distinctly remember, was about her parents' whereabouts. I felt a pang of guilt as I blurted out they were out of town. To explain my presence, I quickly added that I was Elishiana's boyfriend and her parents had entrusted her care to me.
