"How can she have severe asthma? We all thought that she was getting better now."Tanong ko sa Doctor na nasa harapan namin ngayon ng pamilya ni Elish. Eight hours after she fell unconscious, she hasn't woken up, and I am still worried.

Elishiana was close to death, but thankfully, she reached the hospital in time, according to the doctor. Now, I'm struggling to accept the doctor's prediction that Elishiana has a 60% chance of recovery, which is why they've suggested bronchial thermoplasty.

Given my medical knowledge, I understand the bronchial thermoplasty risks. However, it's Elishiana's only chance. Asthma is incurable, but manageable.

"Pa, Sigurado naman po ako na mas gugustuhin ni Ate na mag undergo sa procedure na 'yan kaysa tiisin yung asthma niya. Opo, sabihin po natin na maraming risk factor pero magiging worth it naman po iyon kapag lumipas ang mga araw."Jayden is clearly persuading his father to sign the contract. He's correct that the bronchial thermoplasty side effects are short-lived, resulting from airway irritation.

"Honey, Your son is right, this is also for your daughter, and yes, this might be her choice too if she's aware right now." Elishiana's stepmother's words hung in the air, her sincerity evident in her tone. My eyebrows drew together in confusion. A shift in their relationship was undeniable, but the speed of it was baffling. I felt a growing sense of bewilderment as questions about their dynamic raced through my mind.

In the end, Elishiana's father signed the contract. "Before doing this, we will perform some tests and administer some medication to Elishiana, but because she is still asleep, for the time being, we will let her rest and prepare her body for the subsequent medications she will need to take once she awakens," the doctor explained.

"Since you don't have any more questions to bring up, I have to leave now. I just need to check on my other patient..." The doctor added before walking away."

"Maybe this is one of the reasons my heart is pushing me to pursue a career in medicine, so I can look after you once I graduate. I want to be your doctor and husband," I whispered softly, my thumb gently brushing against her hand.

"But can that kind of relationship between us happen in the future? Or will it just be a doctor-patient dynamic?" I asked softly, leaning in to kiss her lips. Pulling away, I saw a single tear glistening in her eye.

"Are you awake, my love?"I asked but she didn't respond. Yup... still, unconscious.

[KUMUSTA si Ate Elish? Don't you want to return to Nethilor? Eight days have passed since then,]my brother's voice inquired over the phone. It was true; classes had already started, yet I remained in Korea, eight days removed from that fateful event.

"She hasn't awakened yet, but the doctor says this week is when she possibly can," I replied, my voice filled with a mixture of hope and despair. The longing to hear her voice again was a constant ache, and each passing day felt like an eternity.

[I hope she gets well already--- Zycriel! You're about to be late yet again, so let's go.] All I could do was shake my head when I overheard my mother screaming in the background of the phone call. I'd completely lost track of the time difference that It's Morning in Nethilor. "Zycriel, you need to end this call right away. I'll just inform Elish that you wish her to get well," I said quickly.

[Okay Kuya, take care!--- Here I am Mom!]He said and ended the call.

I returned to the room after speaking with Zycriel, preferring to avoid making noise inside. Elishiana's stepmother was there, gently wiping Elishiana's body with a damp towel. She was on the other side of the bed when I quietly sat down. Lost in her task, she seemed oblivious to my presence, continuing to care for Elishiana as if I were invisible.
