Eclipse didn't like sleeping on the floor very much. It's not like she couldn't, especially if she was too exhausted, it's just that every time she did she was reminded of this place and the alleys she'd had to sleep in sometimes. It always terrified her. Sure she had done well this past year but it could only last so long.

There was noise but no real images. It wasn't like the nightmares of her family; it was screaming and crying and the sounds of the streets she found herself growing up in.

She felt her arm being shaken and the scarves underneath her and summoned a shadow blade putting it behind the person's neck. Blue eyes stared back at her and she dropped the blade making it disperse into the air.

Weiss didn't look scared of her, the only negative emotion she felt from her was sadness. Eclipse sat back and rubbed her eyes with the palms of her hands. She was sweating bullets and she realized she was trembling.

"Thea," Weiss said softly.

"I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry, did I hurt you?"

"No," she said. "No, I'm fine."

"Oh thank the gods."

"You were talking in your sleep."

Eclipse nearly flinched as she looked up at her. Her eyes were glowing red while Weiss' were the same beautiful icy color she'd fallen in love with years ago.

"What... did I say?" she asked carefully.

"It was a bit less cohesive than usual." Eclipse didn't know she talked in her sleep regularly and decided to revisit that topic later. "At one point you said not to bring you back somewhere then you said you had enough scars already. There was a lot of mumbling in between those two."

That was more than enough truly. Eclipse brought her knees up to her chest and rested her forehead on the cool skin.

"I hate this place," she finally whispered. "I hate this place, I hate this kingdom, I hate Haven, and for a long time I hated Atlas. But I dealt with it because we had to. I had to. But being back here, looking at all of this— it makes me feel like I'm a little kid again. Like I never got to Vale and I'm still stuck here hiding from everyone and everything."

"We can find somewhere else."

"We can't. People will recognize us, either from the tournament, or from our families, or, for me, from being the little street rat that used to be around," she sighed. "We can't go anywhere else..."

Weiss gently took her hands and held them in hers. "Thea, if this place is going to give you nightmares every night and you end up like you were at Beacon, we are not staying here."

Eclipse looked at her through glossy eyes and said, "It's only a few nights. I can make it."

Weiss kissed her wrists where the cracks started forming. "If you feel for even a moment that you can't do it anymore, tell me. We'll leave as soon as we can."

"Yeah. Okay." She nodded and laid back down, Weiss joining her soon afterwards. "I love you."

"I love you more."

"Mercury," Salem said and he froze. "May I have a word?"

"Yeah of course." He shrugged and closed the doors behind him. "What is it?"

"The huntress from Beacon who could control the Grimm," she said, "is she dead?"

It was a strange question for multiple reasons but since they first heard of Salem, him and Emerald, they were told that Eclipse was important.

"I mean we thought she died in the fall of Beacon but then she showed up with the other nuisances in Haven—" he tried to say but she cut him short.

With bloody eyes she stared down at him. "Is. She. Dead."

He took a shaky breath and shook his head. "No, we were forced to evacuate before we could kill her."

Salem gave a curt nod. "You're dismissed."

But right after he closed the door he heard the windows all shatter. He didn't know what the crazy chick's obsession with Eclipse was but he didn't really care either.

Salem grit her teeth. The huntress was close and she knew what that meant.

There was one thing that could kill her and it was that little girl.
