Before the Storm

"Why's this always happening to us?" Jaune sighed as he cut off a Lancer's head.

"Bad luck!" Emerald replied as she shot but then looked at Qrow. "Not targeted."

"Sure kid."

"Snow Queen position three!" Ruby yelled as she took down another Lancer.

Eclipse jumped next to Weiss and took her hand. "I think a Wyvern or two would do the trick."

"Whatever you say beloved."

"You two still owe me pain and suffering!" Nora yelled.

Eclipse stood in front of her mirror and smiled softly. She spent a while trying to remove herself from her family's whole appearance but now she embraced it.

She took her necklace off along with the family ring. If she never returned she needed her brothers to have something from her.

"Are you ready?" Weiss asked.

"Yep. Let's do this." She took Weiss' hand and kissed the back of it. "Te amo."

"Te amo my darling." Weiss smiled but there was something almost hesitant behind it.

"What's wrong?" Eclipse asked.

"I just— I keep thinking about us."

"You're not breaking up with me already are you? Damn, I didn't even last three months."

"No but that's my exact point! We keep saying stuff like that but we never specified, are we dating or are we just together but not really together?"

"Honestly? I have no clue. I've been so preoccupied with the whole figuring out how my family is now and how I fit into it along with figuring out how to keep going with our little quest that I haven't given it that much thought." She sighed. "You want my completely honest opinion on it?"

"Always."

"We're anything you want us to be. I love you and I know you love me. That's enough for me, that's everything I've wanted for us for the longest time. If you want a label, I'm happy to find one that fits, if you don't then we can just be us. That's all I need Weiss."

Weiss was getting used to an open Eclipse, an older Thea, but she didn't think she'd ever really get used to the way she said her name. Her real name. There was a sort of lilt to it; it was hard to place but she loved it all the same.

"I want to be more than just your girlfriend."

"Uhh I think it's a little early for us to get married but I'm willing to be your fiancée for another ten years."

"No, I mean girlfriend feels like too simple a word for how I feel about you and from what you just told me you feel the same."

"You're my angel."

"And you're my love. I just want a word that encapsulates how much I love you."

"We'll find one. Y'know in our free time between fighting Grimm and Salem's minions."

"Right." Weiss giggled.

"Speaking of which, the others are probably wondering why we're taking so long."

Nora threw the door open and they both jumped.

She looked furious.

"How long?!" she yelled.

They looked at each other then back at her.

"How long have we been here, like two months?" Eclipse said and Weiss nodded, holding back a smile as Nora fumed.
