They trekked through the dunes going against the wind that tried to blow sand in their eyes.

"Don't suppose you have someone to take us in here do ya Clipsa?" Yang asked.

She sighed. "In Vacuo? No. No acquaintances, no friends, and none of my exes would dare come out here. Too hot, too sandy. Place fuckin sucks."

"We wouldn't stay with any of your exes anyway," Weiss said firmly.

"Believe me, two fifths of them would kill me in my sleep."

"What'd you do?"

"One of them cheated on me so I slashed her tires and stole all her shoelaces and batteries. The other was a stalker so I set her car on fire."

"You're kidding," Blake and Oscar said.

"She followed me home three times, I felt unsafe. For the other one I was just being petty cause how could she cheat on me? I'm way hotter than that."

"Yeah, the eye bags and secrecy really add to your charm," Jaune said.

"I miss when you were scared of me."

"Believe me I do too."

"What about Melina?"

"We don't need to talk about Melina. Besides, she's got her sisters and they have their reservations about me."

"Like?" Oscar asked.

"Militia doesn't hate me she just thinks I'd be better off dead and Melanie is just confused as to why we broke up so she doesn't like me much anymore either. Plus Melina still kinda has a thing for me so that doesn't help." She paused. "If they are here they'd kill me for even considering bringing my new girlfriend to stay with my ex girlfriend."

"I'd kill you for considering that," Weiss said.

"Fair."

"Yeah. Weiss, what exactly do you see in Eclipse?"

"What did Pyrrha see in you?"

Everyone stopped but she just shrugged, staring Jaune down like an Ursa.

Then he laughed. "You're a horrible person."

"I know, aren't I fun?"

"A riot," he said. "Now where the hell are we going to go?"

"We can see if my little hideout is still there." She shrugged. "It's not much but it'll work."

"Hideout?"

"Well yeah. I had to live somewhere."

"Is it nice?"

"For the works of a street rat, yeah," Eclipse said. "Nothing like the manor though. Some nights I had to sleep on thrown out clothes."

They looked at her strangely, seeming concerned and she sighed. They didn't have time to be sad about her childhood.

"It's not that bad. I mean I wouldn't be as independent if I didn't rough it for a few years."

"If by a few you mean six then yes you did rough it for a few years," Qrow said.

"I wish you stayed with Tyche," Eclipse grumbled. "Come on, it's just a block more."

They walked through the lively town into the dark streets keeping Weiss hidden from the crowd. Eclipse turned down an alleyway and blocked a knife thrown at her head.

"Shit!" She pushed Oscar and Ruby behind her as Weiss pulled out her saber.

A curvy woman with pink hair and white eyes stepped out of the shadows with three knives hovering above her hand. She scowled at Eclipse and said, "What did I tell you about coming back here?"
