"This is too easy!" Alexis laughed as she cut through unsuspecting A.E.R. forces.
"Hmm, bit of a psycho, isn't she?" Jonathon said to himself as he flew overhead, recently joining the fight whilst Alpha and Fated dealt with Skyswipe. "I wonder what she did in order to impress Krystelle".
"Maybe you should think about yourself, right now!" an angry female voice came from above Jonathon, who had to quickly deploy his starial shields from a plethora of bullets. Jonathon swerved around to witness a white-armoured Wyperian reload an Uzi-style sub-machine gun; the same type as Staruthia's. The cybernetic being fired another magazine into Jonathon's starial shield.
"Ugh, you Humans always have to ruin everything, don't you?!" she spat.
"An A.E.R. officer wielding that particular weapon and a genuine hatred for Humanity... you must be Starnava", Jonathon concluded.
"What do you mean 'genuine'?" Starnava snapped. "Most of the A.E.R. hate Humans!"
"No, from what I've seen, most A.E.R. members just want to level themselves up!" Jonathon replied.
"Humanity disrupted our entire society!" Starnava's visor flickered between red and blue. "I lost my father because they couldn't defend themselves! Then they all of a sudden have these suits, new aircraft and even a new base ship?! It's infuriating!" A thin, long barrel extended out of right her arm and started to fire balls of pink-coloured energy at Jonathon.
"Oh yeah? Then why did you kill Hyperzio?!" Jonathon shouted as he once again blocked with his starial shields. "If Novaran was so important to you, why kill his allies, disrespect his wishes and go against his wife; your own mother?!"
"She was wasting time trying to support Earth!" Starnava argued. "They didn't even need our help! THEY needed to help US find the Ayratulia!"
"THEY DID HELP!" Jonathon snapped. "Then YOU killed the Ayra within the year!"
Starnava hesitated briefly before opening up a communications line, "Defence forces: deploy and halt the Human's advance immediately!" Jonathon looked down at the outpost; dozens of Wyperians came out of the cave and all deployed their spherical energy shields.
Starnava grinned, "The longer we delay this conflict the easier-"
"AHHH!" a short, sharp scream cut Starnava off. That scream seemed to set everything in silence around the outpost. Only the distant gunfire from the surrounding battles could be heard. Jonathon and Starnava both scanned over the battlefield to see where that scream came from. It was an A.E.R. Wyperian that came from within the cave. He collapsed to the floor, dead. In front of the group stood Alexis; her outstretched arms held her twin sub-machine guns. She fired at another one of the defence team. As soon as her bullets connected with the spherical shield, it shattered part of it, leaving hexagonal holes in the shield. The bullets made an opening that allowed the following shots to continue on into the chest of the Wyperian. Alexis painted over the team with her weapons, killing every single one of them.
"Wha- Wha- WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" Starnava screeched as she looked at the corpses of her fallen soldiers. 'With an ability like that... do we even stand a chance?' she thought. 'I have to find out more and report this to Flaymaclaze immediately!'
"Well then", Jonathon nervously laughed. "I guess we know what Alexis did to impress Krystelle..."
Alexis turned around smugly to her fellow Humans as she stowed away her weapons, "You have a clear path to the outpost now". Her eyes darted upwards towards Jonathon and Starnava, "The enemy leader must truly be an idiot to deploy all of her forces at once". Jonathon felt a chill go up his spine. That quote was delivered in such heartless way; it was unlike the cheerful, cocky Alexis he had seen before. He didn't think anything of it at first, but for a brief second, Jonathon thought he saw some red in those deep-blue eyes of hers.
