Faith
"Where is he?" Mom asked coming beside me for the 20th time today or is it 200th.
"On the way." I replied with the same answer I've been replying for the last 2 hours.
"Did you call him?" She asked impatiently.
"Yeah. He's on his way. Don't worry. He'll be here any minute now." I reassured her as well as myself.
"He better be or else I won't let him hear the end of it " Mom said angrily and dashed off to greet yet another relative.
To summarise this all today's the day we were suppose to have lunch at my parents. I woke up to once again find that my husband has already been gone leaving me clueless as to what I should do. This was the first time after we got married that we were visiting my parents. I had decided to leave him a message that I'll meet him directly at my parents. I decided to go to his company but I didn't wanna see him with Chiara there. I know they're siblings but the way that Chiara see him and the authority she shows on him is quite weird. What I spoke with Adrian was something I'll never utter. But there's something missing in this story. It doesn't feel right as to say. I trust Adrian but there are so many blanks. Like why did they kidnap Tessa when everyone knows that they have three sons and a daughter legally. Also why are they posing as a couple still even after the threat is contained. What will marrying Chiara to the other family what ever it was do any good? The thing that Adrain didn't tell me is the baby. The one I saw in the photo. Why is Chiara living with Angel when Adrian and his family is quite strong to take care of her? All this feels so fishy. There something totally wrong about this story and I don't know why but I feel like there's definitely something missing. The only person whom I can get the truth from is my husband but he's not going to tell me I'm sure of it. So the next best person I think is Tessa. But as Adrian said she's not here and is apparently married to god knows whom. I have to somehow get her number. I have to contact her if I want to uncover the skeletons from the West closet. So until I do I'll not feel comfortable about Angel being with Chiara all the time. But logically speaking I don't have any authority over Angel or a say in what he does with others. All in all I shouldn't worry about any of this I should just think of getting by with him for a few months than getting my own place and moving out. Then only waiting to see him at the court for the divorce. I don't know what but something keeps provoking me to uncover all the truths.
So here I am standing in a charcoal grey full sleeve dress in a makeup and hairstyle that I had to go to a parlour to do since my mom said to look presentable and like a bride waiting for my husband. By the way my husband's MIA since the last 2 hours. His phone is switched off. I tried calling his office but he's not there either. The only resort I have is to stand here and hope that he comes on time and not embarrass my parents.
"Do you really think he'll spare time to meet people like us?" I heard my second cousin from my father's side say. She's been single way too long I think.
"I don't think so." My third cousin said. They had been brides maid in my wedding.
"He'll be here. He's was in a meeting " I said not wanting to feel embarrassed.
"I hope he does. I wouldn't want to feel embarrassed in front of every one here." My cousin said.
All in all my father's brothers and sisters all came here with their wives and children. My house and backyard is filled with all family members. It's like a small party when it was supposed to be a lunch. My mom had made all the food on her own early in the morning. Only my brother is absent. I know he won't come. But my mom keep giving people excuses on his behalf. Each and every relative have asked me once or twice where my husband was. I decided to head to my room upstairs to taken a minute from this crazy madness. While I was walking upstairs I heard some voices from the kitchen. I walked closer.
