After date night, the rest of the weekend and school week goes by pretty quickly.
It's already Friday again. As I head into Literature, I give Tessa a wave and prepare for her to try another set up.
"Hey Tess," I say as I sit in my seat next to her.
"Hey." She smiles.
"So, what are you up to tonight?" I ask, even though I already know it's date night for her and Zed.
"Zed is taking me out tonight."
"Please tell me you aren't trying to get me to double date with you again tonight," I groan.
"No way!" she laughs. "Last Friday was a disaster! Besides, tonight is a special night for Zed and me."
"How come?"
"It's our six month anniversary!" she announces excitedly.
"Oh, yeah. I can't believe it's only been six months." For me, it's felt like a lifetime of torture and agony.
"Yeah. He promised to take me somewhere special tonight."
"Where?" I ask, even though I don't really want to know, but she is so excited and I love listening to her talk about things she's excited about.
"He wouldn't actually tell me. He said he wanted to surprise me. Isn't that sweet?"
"Yeah, he's a regular romantic," I say as I roll my eyes, but Tessa doesn't notice.
The professor walks in and class starts.
At the end of class I manage to some how sound convincing when I tell Tessa to have fun tonight and then I go to the rest of my classes.
When classes are over, I drive home and take a short nap.
When I wake, Zed isn't home yet, so I decide to text him that I won't be back home tonight. There is no way in Hell I am going to be here to listen to them celebrate their anniversary. The thought alone makes me want to vomit all over his room.
I grab my phone and keys and get into my car. I decide to head to Blind Bob's for some dinner.
While I sit there eating my dinner alone, I imagine what wonderful date Zed must have planned for Tessa. She'll look at him with love in her eyes and then spend the rest of the night showing him how much she loves him. It was a bad idea to think of this while eating because I end up losing my appetite.
After dinner, I decide to quickly go back to the apartment before Tessa and Zed get back there after their date. I want to pick up some of my manuscripts from work so I have something to do all night while I end up sleeping in my car to avoid them.
As I drive back, I notice it's only 8, so I should get in and out before they get back from their movie or whatever.
I put my key in the door, unlock it and quietly turn the door knob in case they got home early.
When I push the door open, my stomach sinks because I see Zed and Tessa sitting on the couch, making out, with their hands all over each other. I guess I was wrong and they ended date night early because they couldn't wait to fuck each other.
I turn to leave, without being noticed by either of them, when something catches my eye. I see a big blob of pink bouncing up and down on the couch. That's not Tessa. That's Molly.
