"Good morning, my beautiful fiancée," Hardin whispers in my ear before kissing my forehead.
I slowly open my eyes to see him standing next to the bed, already showered and dressed. "What time is it?" I ask groggily.
"It's 8."
"And you are already showered and dressed?"
"Yep. If I didn't know better, I'd think I was more excited about exploring the city than you are," he quietly chuckles.
"Well, I am a little exhausted after last night," I say as wonderful memories of Hardin and I making love flood back to me.
"Did I wear you out, Theresa?" Hardin smirks.
"Hardin!" I shout and cover my face.
"If you think you're tired now, just wait until our wedding night."
"I guess that will be an all nighter," I giggle.
"Especially if we're working on creating little Emery."
"Okay! That's enough of that right now!"
"I'll let it go, for now, only because we're late. But you owe me one adorable baby, Theresa," he chuckles.
"One big life changing step at a time, Hardin!"
"I'll wear you down, just like I did about marrying me," he boasts.
"Anyway... sorry we didn't get to the champagne and strawberries last night."
"We should have them for breakfast," he suggests.
"What about the champagne?"
"We'll bring it home and just celebrate again," he says seductively.
"I like the way you think, Mr. Scott," I say before kissing him.
After Hardin feeds me the chocolate strawberries and gets melted chocolate all over my face as I giggle uncontrollably, I finally shower and get ready for the day.
"Okay, where to, baby?"
"I really want to visit the Space Needle!" I say excitedly.
"Okay, baby," he chuckles. "Your wish is my command."
As Hardin and I drive to the Space Needle, I watch the city rush by as I stare out the window.
"Okay, we're here," Hardin announces.
Hardin pays for our admission and I can't contain how excited I am. "Let's go to the top!"
"You like it on top, don't you?" Hardin smirks.
"Hardin!" I smack his arm.
"Ouch!" he laughs.
"Come on!" I groan and pull him with me. "I can't wait to see the whole city at once."
"I'm beginning to get offended here, Tess. You seem more excited about this than our engagement," he teases.
"Don't be ridiculous, Hardin! That was the best moment of my life."
"The best moment of your life, so far," he points out and then gently kisses me.
When we finally make it through the crowd and to the top of the Needle, I can't believe what a gorgeous view I have of the city.
"Wow," Hardin mumbles.
"Does the view take even the great Hardin Scott's breath away?" I tease.
"Um, yeah. I'm starting to think I should have proposed here."
"Hardin, I love how you proposed to me. It was intimate and so special," I reassure him.
"I hope so."
"It was! But now that you bring it up, I do want to ask you something. Um, were you going to propose at dinner, until I ruined it?"
"I did think about doing the whole thing where you propose over dessert or champagne, but I always thought those guys were pretentious douche bags, so I decided to do it at the hotel instead."
"Oh, okay. I felt awful thinking I had ruined it."
"You didn't, baby, but it did make me nervous to know you were on to me. I was so fucking scared you were going to say no and dump me right then."
"Hardin, nothing is ever going to change the way I feel about you. We are going to spend the rest of our lives together."
"Tess... How about we take a photo and you can show off your engagement... charm?"
"Okay!" I squeal.
Hardin takes out his phone and puts one arm around me while I hold my charm bracelet in front of me, making sure it's in the camera's view. Hardin snaps a photo of us, and then several more as he kisses my cheek and I start to giggle. I turn to meet his lips and he takes another.
"I really love it up here," I say.
"So do I." He smiles at me, then tucks my hair behind my ear. "The view is gorgeous."
"It really is," I agree and then look out over the city.
"I was talking about you."
"Hardin..." I blush.
Hardin wraps his arm around me again and we continue to stare down at the city in awe.
Hardin and I continue to watch the busy city below us, pointing out things to one another, until the sun starts to set.
"Wow, I can't believe we've been up here all day!" I say.
"How about we take a few more photos with the sunset in them, Tess?"
"I'd love to." I smile.
Hardin pulls me close to him and takes a few photos. The last photo we take is of us kissing with the beautiful orange and red sky behind us.
"I love you, Hardin. Thank you for such a great day."
"Thank you for agreeing to be my wife."
I reach up and cup his cheek as I gently rub my thumb across it.
"Let's stop at the gift shop before we leave, Tess."
Hardin and I leave the beautiful view and head for the gift shop. While I'm browsing the gift shop, I lose track of Hardin. I find a keychain and magnet that I like and pay for it. Then, I notice Hardin waiting outside for me. "Why'd you leave?" I ask.
"This is for you." Hardin hands me a little box.
I open it to discover a charm of the Space Needle. "I love this! Thank you!" I squeal and give him a big hug.
"You're welcome, baby. Now let's head back to the hotel."
