"Tonight was so much fun!" I say as we enter the hotel room and then toss my purse on the counter.

"It really was," Hardin agrees.

"So... What's the surprise?" I giggle.

"Theresa, you're so impatient."

"I'm excited! But, if you're going to make me wait, then I will just give you your gift."

"You didn't have to get me a gift."

"Are you kidding?! After this trip I owe you a lot more than an anniversary gift."

"Tess... I don't do this because I want anything in return. I do it because I enjoy seeing you happy."

"Hardin... I love you so much." I leave the room and grab my gift for Hardin out of my suitcase and then walk back over to him. "Here," I say as I hand it to him. "I hope you like it. It's not much, but it's the thought that counts!" I giggle. Hardin opens his gift and before he can say anything I start explaining it to him. "I thought you might like this binder to keep all your writing in. See? It has your initials!"

"I love it, baby," he chuckles and kisses me.

"What are you always writing, anyway?"

"A book I want to publish someday."

"Really? What's it about?" I ask curiously.

"You."

"Yeah, right," I laugh.

"Are you ready for your gift now?"

"Yes!"

"I almost didn't hear that," he chuckles.

"Hardin!" I whine.

"Fine. Happy three months," he says and hands me a long black box.

I open the box and reveal a gold necklace with 'Tess' dangling from it. "Hardin... This... this is beautiful! I feel so cheap now!"

Hardin laughs at my comment. "Can I help you put it on?"

"Please!" I turn around and Hardin gently glides his fingers over the back of my neck as he moves my hair out of the way, causing goosebumps to rise on my skin. He puts the necklace on me and moves my hair back. I turn around to face him again.

"It looks perfect on you."

"Thank you so much!" I give him the biggest hug.

"You're very welcome."

"I think I'm going to go change out of this dress now."

"Okay, Tess. I love you."

"I love you more," I say as I walk into the bathroom.

"That's not possible," Hardin shouts to me.

When I get into the bathroom, I change into pyjama bottoms and Hardin's shirt. Before I leave the bathroom, I take a few minutes for myself.

I love Hardin's gift for me. It's beautiful, but I can't help but feel a little disappointed he didn't propose to me. I'm shocked I feel this way since I'm not ready to get married yet, or to be officially engaged. After dinner tonight I just got the idea that he was going to propose stuck in my head and I was actually looking forward to it.

I splash some water on my face before I leave the bathroom. When I open the door, I'm greeted with a tray that has a bottle of pink champagne and chocolate covered strawberries on it. "Hardin, what's all of this?"

"Tess, I have something to ask you," he says and then kneels down on one knee in front of me.

"Oh, wow," is all I can manage to say.

Hardin takes my hand in his and begins to talk as my heart turns to mush. "I know we have only been dating for three months, but it's been the best three months of my life. I've been in love with you since the day I first laid eyes on you. Before you, my life had no meaning. Now, you have become my life. I get to wake up knowing I get to spend another day of my life with you. I get to go to bed holding you safely in my arms. You consume my every thought. I never want to spend another second apart from you. Theresa Lynn Young, will you do me the honour of spending the rest of your life with me?"

I'm left speechless by Hardin's proposal. I don't know how much time passes as I just stare down at him without saying anything.

"Tess?" he whispers.

I pull him to stand up in front of me. I leap into his arms as I shout, "Yes!"

He spins me around before placing me back down on the floor. "I know you didn't want a ring yet, so I respected your wishes and I'm going to give you this instead." He opens a little box and I look inside. I pick up what's inside and inspect it. It's an infinity symbol for my charm bracelet. He takes the charm from me and starts adding it to my charm bracelet. "This charm represents your promise to spend the rest of your life with me. As soon as you're ready to wear an engagement ring, I'm going to buy you one. Okay?"

I nod. I'm still speechless.

"Are you okay?" he asks me. I can tell he's getting worried.

"I'm better than okay. I'm surprised by all of this, but I'm just so happy."

"You're not mad that I proposed?"

"I'm glad you did."
