After school is done for the day, I get back to the apartment. It feels so empty without Tessa here. I hope she's having a good first day. I still have a couple of hours until she gets home, so I decide to read some of the manuscripts I have for work.

I must fall asleep reading because I wake up hours later. I look over at the clock and it's already almost 8:30. "Fuck! How did I sleep so late?" I shout and jump up from the couch.

"Tess? Are you here?" I call throughout the apartment and search each room. Tessa was supposed to be home hours ago. Where the hell is she? I try not to panic and grab for my phone to call her. "Fuck! Well, that's just great," I groan. My phone's battery is completely dead.

Fuck this independence thing. I'm worried about Tessa and I have no way of reaching her, so I grab my car keys and start driving to the book store.

It's so dark out and Tessa said she was going to walk home. What if she didn't get to leave until it was already dark and she's just walking around all alone in he dark? I knew I shouldn't have let her talk me out of picking her up. I'm never letting that stubborn girl out of my sight again. I don't care if I have to handcuff her to me. Wherever she goes, I go.

"Tessa, please be okay..." I plead. The drive to the book store feels like an eternity and I'm getting more worried by the second.

I finally reach the book store and my heart drops when I see all the lights off and a 'Closed' sign hanging on the door. I look around, but there's no Tessa in sight. Why would she just leave in the dark instead of waiting for me? Because she probably tried to call me and my phone was dead. This is my fault. If anything happens to her because of me... I'll never forgive myself.

"Fuck, Tess, where are you?" I ask while looking out both sides of my car. I continue to drive down the road, hoping I'll meet her along the way. I need to find her. I need her to be safe. I'm not going home until I find her. I'll search this whole damn town until I find her. "I'm so sorry, Tess..." I whisper to myself.
