I wake up the next morning to the blinding sun in my eyes. I look over at Hardin to see he's still fast asleep, so I take the opportunity to watch him for a few minutes. I love how peaceful he looks. And even while he's sleeping he still manages to look like the most attractive person in the room. His hair is dishevelled, his lips are slightly parted and he's lightly snoring. I love him so much.

"Tess, are you watching me sleep again?" he asks in a sleepy voice.

"Maybe," I reply and brush the stray strands of hair off his forehead.

"Why do you like to do that?" he quietly chuckles.

"I don't know... I just love how peaceful you look in your sleep."

"That's because I was dreaming of you." He smiles and kisses the top of my head.

"Really?" I ask.

"Of course. I'm just thankful that when I finally wake up, you aren't just a dream."

"I love you so much," I say as I give him a quick kiss. "So, what are the plans for today? Are we going to do touristy stuff?"

"Actually, I thought we'd just take it easy today."

"Why? We did that yesterday. When are we actually going to do something exciting?"

"Well, we are, tonight. That's why I don't want to tire ourselves out during the day."

"Oh, what are we doing tonight?" I ask excitedly.

"It's a surprise."

"Hardin, not another surprise," I whine. "Please just tell me what we're doing tonight," I beg.

"Well, if you're going to be annoying again..."

"Hardin!"

"I saw that there was this charity gala happening while we were here and I thought it'd be fun for us to dress up all fancy and shit, so I bought us tickets."

"Us?"

"Okay, I knew you'd love it and thought I'd tag along," he jokes.

"That actually sounds really fun!"

"I hope you remembered to pack a fancy dress."

"I did! I'm so excited!"

"I thought you might be."

"Okay, so what are we going to do until tonight?"

"You decide."

"Well, I love the souvenir shops in small towns like this. They always have such neat things. Do you think we could do some shopping?"

"If that's what you want to do."

"It is!"

"Okay, let's get ready then. We have to be back early. The gala starts at 6."
