"So, Hardin, is this how you imagined it?" Tessa asks while giving me a sinful grin.

I can't help but stand there speechless, so I just nod furiously while grinning at her.

"Well, are you going to come make love to me? Or should I just go down to Trevor's apart-"

"Don't you dare finish that damn sentence," I jokingly threaten and Tessa starts to giggle. I quickly remove my clothes and then join her on the blanket. "You're the best fiancée any man could ask for." I gently brush the hair off her face.

"You're just saying that because I'm naked," she giggles.

"Well, that doesn't hurt, but it's always going to be true. I love you, baby, and I'm so sorry I jumped to conclusions."

"It's okay, Hardin. I understand it probably sounded pretty bad."

"Let me apologize to you properly." I smirk and then start to kiss the spot just under her ear that I know drives her crazy.

"O-okay," she moans.

"Do you forgive me yet?" I ask between placing kisses down her neck.

"N-not yet."

"How about now?" I place kisses on her collar bone, over her chest and down her stomach.

"N-no," she moans.

"I think I know what will get you to forgive me." I dip my head between her thighs.

"Yep, that'll work. Oh, Hardin..."

I continue to work my tongue on her while she gently tugs on my hair, driving me insane.

After I turn her into a moaning, panting mess, I bring myself to lie beside her again. "Am I forgiven, Theresa?"

"Do you even need to ask?" she laughs.

I gently part her legs and then move between them. "I just want to make sure you know how truly sorry I am," I whisper into her ear as I push myself into her.

"Har-Hardin..."

I start to passionately kiss her while thrusting into her. She tightens her legs around me when I begin to roughly rock into her. "Fuck, Tess..."

"So good," she moans into my mouth.

I reach for her hands and lace my fingers through hers, while placing them above her head. "I love you, Tess. Fuck, I love you so much." I continue to rock into her.

"I-I love you, Hardin..." she declares as she comes for me.

With a few more thrusts against her warm flesh, I release into Tessa, and it's the most amazing feeling in the world.

As I'm coming down from my high, I press my forehead to hers and then give her a gentle kiss.

She reaches up and pushes my hair out of my face. "That was the best apology I've ever gotten."

I can't help but laugh as I roll off her and lie beside her. "You better not be getting apologies from anyone else," I chuckle.

"Nope. Only you." She smiles and caresses my cheek.

I wrap her in my arms. "Thank you for today, Tess. It was everything that I was hoping for."

"And thank you for the best birthday ever."

"Fuck! Happy birthday!"

"Thanks?" she giggles.

"With everything going on, I forgot. I have a present for you." I quickly get up to retrieve her gift. I quickly grab it from the closet, then lie down beside Tessa again before giving it to her.

"Hardin, you already got me that beautiful necklace."

"This is just a little something extra."

I watch as she opens it and her face lights up. "You framed our photos from Seattle? I love this, so much."

"I had trouble deciding on which two, but I liked the one with you showing off your engagement charm and the one with the sunset behind us as we kissed."

"Good choice! I'm going to put it beside our bed."

"I'm glad you like it."

"Thank you." She smiles the brightest smile and then kisses me.

"Is there anything else you want for your birthday?"

"Can you hold me a little while longer?"

"You don't even have to ask, baby." I kiss the top of her head and bring her to lie on my chest.

"Hardin, why was decorating a tree so important to you?"

"I never had a chance to do it with my family. My father was always drunk. And my mum was always sad around that time of year."

"Oh, Hardin."

"I'll never let it be like that for our family, though. Every year we'll make a huge deal out of it!"

"I love you." She smiles up at me.

"You know what, Tess? I think I feel like apologizing for forgetting your birthday."

"You didn't actually forget!" she giggles.

"Well, I'm going to apologize anyway."

"We have to leave early tomorrow morning!"

"Then I better not waste any time." I grin before parting her legs and entering her again.

We spend the rest of the evening making love on the floor in front of the fireplace before falling asleep wrapped in that damn throw blanket.
