Chapter 19

Delaney Sugg

I was finally able to walk somewhat normally even though I have a boot on. Randy drove me back to my house and I planned ahead and already packed my things up. Randy walked in with me and we grabbed my boxes of things and brought them to the car.

"Bye mom. I'll still be around you know." I smiled a little.

"Oh, I know you will." She sadly smiled. She gave me a hug and I walked over to my dad giving him a hug too. Then I made my way over to Zoe.

"See ya sis. I'll probably be over here tomorrow or something." I laughed as did Zoe.

"Yeah, maybe you'll finally agree to be in a video with me or Joe?" Zoe smiled.

"No, probably not." We laughed and I saw Joe. I gave him a big hug and he hugged me back.

"See ya around." Joe said patting my head.

"Yeah, see ya around." I smiled. Randy gave me a smile and said goodbye to my parents. We walked to the car and we drove to my new house. It was going to be weird considering this house is huge for just the two of us. But I won't complain. I smiled a little as we drove to his house.

"What are you smiling about?" Randy asked.

"Well, I am going to be living with you which is going to be pretty cool. And graduation is tomorrow." I said.

"Oh yeah! That's tomorrow!" Randy said shocked.

"Yup! Then it's summer!" I cheered putting arm out the window. Randy just laughed at me. I laughed along. Then I saw the big house come into view. It was a beautiful house. Even though I've been here before it still amazed me.

"Ready?" Randy asked parking his car. I nodded and we started getting my boxes out of the car we put them in the upstairs bedroom. It was the master bedroom. "I've decided that we can act like a married couple and sleep in the same bed." Randy chuckled.

"Sounds good to me!" I laughed. We started doing the hard part. Unpacking.

"You can put all your extra stuff in Steph-----" Randy paused and cleared his throat. "Excuse me. Um....you can put your extra stuff in the bedroom next to ours." I smiled sadly and nodded.

"What's this room?" I asked from the hallway.

"What roo---" He stopped and ran over. He stood in front of me. His back on the door. "That's......Haley's bedroom. I haven't been in there since she died."

"Maybe that's what you need. Closure." I shrugged. "I won't force you to but maybe it's a good idea."

"I want to. I want to with you." Randy agreed. He took a breath and opened the door. Inside the walls were a light green. The room seemed open and had a balcony. The bed was made nicely. On the night stand was a picture of Randy and Haley smiling together. They both seemed so happy. There was one wall that was dedicated to awards. There were a basketball awards and soccer awards.

"She was a basketball player?" I asked.

"Yeah...the best on the team. We both played against each other in he backyard. We have a full court basketball court. We would play all the time together. It was our quality time together." Randy said sadly. There was a large framed picture above the bed. It was a picture of Haley stealing the basketball from Randy. She was number 25 and so was Randy.

"That's the picture a photographer took when the girls basketball team and boys basketball team scrimmaged for a charity fundraiser." Randy was smiling as he stared at the picture. It was a really good picture. I found a picture on her desk. It was a selfie of her. She was wearing a SnapBack and her hair was down. Her blue eyes really popped out. I smiled at the picture then looked at Randy and he was looking at his feet.

"We can leave if you want." I said. Randy nodded and left the room. I shut the door softly. Randy was already in the bedroom. He had his head in his hands.

"That's what I needed." Randy said looking up at me.

"Good." I smiled. I sat next to him and rubbed his back.

"Thanks Delaney." Randy sniffled.

"For what?"

"Everything." He gave me hug and we decided on ordering pizza. We happily ate our pizza outside on the deck.

"Want to swim?" Randy asked. I looked out at the pool.

"Sure! First one to get dressed wins!" I yelled. I ran to my room fast and pulled out my blue and white stripped bikini. I quickly put on the top and slipped on my bottoms. I opened the door to run outside when Randy picked me up. I squealed. He fling me over his shoulder and I noticed that he was already in his swim trunks.

"Should've thought about that bet before. Guys only have shorts to put on." Randy laughed. We were outside now.

"I guess so----RANDY!!!!" I screamed as he tossed me into the pool. I landed with a loud splash. I got swam to the surface but saw Randy jump in. I screamed and went under water. I have always been able open my eyes underwater so I did. I saw Randy plunge into the water with his eyes squinted. I swam up to get some air. Then Randy popped up too and we laughed. We swam for a while then we went and sat in the hot tub together. We talked and relaxed. The I told Randy we should shower and get ready for school tomorrow.

I woke up the next morning at 6:00 am like always. Then I remembered that I live with Randy now. I looked over and saw him sleeping on his stomach next to me. I shook his shoulder a little. No response. I shook his shoulder a little harder. Still no response.

"Raaaaaandyyyy," I whispered into his ear. He shifted over a little but no response.

"Randy!" I yelled like I was in danger. It might of been a little mean but I mean Randy shot straight up.

"Delaney! What's wron---" Randy yelled but then noticed me sitting next to him laughing. "That is so mean!" Randy pouted shoving me lightly.

"You better get used to it if you aren't going to get up on time." I laughed.

"I'll get up on time I guess."

"Good. Now get dressed." I went to my new closet and pulled out my old hockey jersey. That's right. I used to be a hockey player but quit when I didn't like practicing so much. I put that on along with my leggings and a SnapBack. I put on my brown uggs, well an ugg on one foot and my boot for my foot on the other, then I went downstairs. Randy was still getting ready so I made some toast and munched on that. Then I saw Randy come down in his usual attire. He made some cereal and ate that.

"Let's go!" I yelled after brushing my teeth. Randy was still upstairs doing who knows what. But I saw him come down slowly.

"Ugh...I don't want to go." Randy pouted.

"C'mon crabby. You haven't been in school forever. He groaned and we drove off to school. There were already kids in the parking lot talking. We both got out of car and walked hand in hand into the building. Kids were stopping Randy and saying sorry for your loss but Randy only nodded and we continued walking. I said bye to him and headed to first hour and to start the rest of a long boring day.
