Chapter 26

Delaney Sugg

I had cheer practice early the next morning so I headed down to the gym in my practice uniform Hannah gave me. It consisted of a pair of black spandex booty shorts, a black sports bra and a pair of practice tennis shoes. I tied my hair up in my bow. I saw Hannah stretching with a few other girls so I sat down and started stretching too.

"You did really good yesterday, Delaney." Hannah said.

"Thank you. I really enjoyed it." I smiled.

"Good because this weekend you need to win. We haven't beaten North High Cheer Team in 8 years. You are amazing so this is our chance."

"Ok. That's a lot of pressure." I laughed.

"Sorry. Don't worry about it though. You'll do amazing." I smiled back at her then we had to start practicing.

"Delaney, I want you to be front and center." Hannah pointed to the middle of our group. I went over there and stood straight. "Perfect. Now, Delaney you are going to do a round of flips and end in a back handspring. Afterwards Fecilite and Georgia will have there hands out. Step on their hands and their going to spin you upward." That's pretty much how the rest of the practice went. Then I decided to go to see a Randy. I put a big teeshirt over my bra and a pair of sweatpants.

When I arrived at the hospital I went to Randy's room to see his room packed up. This could be good.

"What's going on in here?" I asked stepping into the room.

"I get to leave! For good!" Randy smiled. I walked over to him and gave him a hug.

"Yay!" I cheered.

"Yeah. They said that when I'm with you I'm a lot happier then I am in here in this hell-hole so their letting me go!" I was very excited. I knew he would get out of here!

"That's amazing!" I gave him another hug.

"Now let's get out of here. I already signed the release papers." We grabbed his bags and went to my car. I drove him back home and for once he looked relaxed. I smiled to myself as I continued driving but then I heard sirens. I checked my spedometer and sure enough I was speeding.

"Dang it." I said under my breath. Randy was chuckling to himself as I pulled over. "This isn't funny. I've never been pulled over before." I was actually really nervous. I sat still and rolled down my window when the cop came by. He looked at me through his sunglasses.

"Hello m'ama. Did you know you were over the speed limit?" The cop asked.

"No, sir. And I'm very sorry." Randy chuckled a little.

"Well, I'll need your drivers license and registration." I grabbed my license from my wallet and my registration from the glovebox. He took it and walked back to the car. I let out a deep breath.

"Relax a little." Randy chuckled placing a hand on my thigh.

"This is very nerve wracking." I sighed.

"I've been pulled over many times. If you have a clean record he's probably going to give you a warning." I let out another breath as the cop came back over.

"Alright Ms. Sugg. You've got a squeaky clean record so I'm just going to let you off with a warning. Next time you'll get a ticket. Just go ahead and make sure you go slower please" the cop nodded handing me my things back.

"Sure thing. Thank you sir." He walked away and I continued driving slowly.

"I just got to experience your first encounter with the police. That's a highlight of our relationship." Randy joked.

"Shut up." I groaned. I saw our house come to sight and I sensed Randy smiling. I glanced over at him and sure enough he was looking out the window smiling. I pulled into the driveway and we both got out of the car. Randy left his bags in the car and ran inside. I laughed a little and grabbed his bags walking in. When I opened the door Randy was laying on the floor. I started laughing Randy grabbed my wrists and pulled me down with him. I dropped his bags and ended up laying next to him. Both of us laughing.

"I missed this." Randy sighed.

"Me too." I smiled staring at the ceiling. "We should sit up though. I haven't cleaned the floor." I giggled. Randy sat up and we both stood up going to the kitchen to grab something for lunch. I made us both a sandwich and we ate together. I'm very happy Randy's better now. It makes me feel good that he's good.

After our lunch we swam in the pool for a little. We decided to play Marco Polo for a little but ended up playing a game of pool tag. After swimming we wanted to relax so we sat in the hot tub. We didn't talk much. We just wanted to relax and take in that everything was going to be a little more normal.

We were now laying in bed together for the first time. I smiled to myself as I thought about Randy being here for once. I glanced over to see Randy already fast asleep probably because he's in the comfort of his own home. I smiled lightly to myself and pushed some of the hair off his forehead. I leaned over and kissed his forehead then rubbed my thumb over his forehead. I rolled over on my side and pulled the covers over my body and let out a breath. I slowly closed my eyes listening to the steady breathing if both Randy and I. Those were the last things I heard before falling asleep.
