Delaney Sugg

I had to get up early to get ready for the first Cheer competition of the weekend. I let Randy sleep a little longer and went to get into the uniform. I pulled the uniform down a little and grabbed the white shoes and socks. I put them on then did my hair process and makeup. After I was done I went to wake up Randy.

"Randy. It's time to get up." I sang. He stirred a little and groaned. He grabbed my pillow to put it over his face but I grabbed it fast. "No. Not now. I have to be at the cheer competition soon." Randy sat up and opened his eyes looking at me.

"Fine." He groaned and went to get dressed. It was super hot out today and the competition was out doors. I went downstairs and packed a mini cooler with water and snacks for Randy and I. I decided to quickly call my mom to see if her, my dad, zoe and Joe wanted to come watch me cheer.

"Hey honey." My mom answered.

"Hi mom. So I sort of started doing cheer for a little. I'm not sure if I'll stay or not but for now I am." I started.

"That's great! You used to love cheer and gymnastics!"

"Yeah.....and today I have my first competition and I wanted you, dad, Zoe, and Joe to come."

"We would love too! When and where?"

"10:00 is when it starts and it's at Queen Elizabeth High on the outdoor track."

"Sounds good! We'll be there!" We both said goodbye and I waited on the couch for Randy. He always takes so long to get ready in the morning. I tried waiting patient il but that wasn't really working out so well.

"Randy! C'mon! I'm going to be late!" I yell.

"Coming!" Randy shouted back and I saw him coming down the stairs. He was wearing a white tank top, basketball shorts, a SnapBack which was backwards and of course those sunglasses. He looked so different but in a good way. "Ya like what you see?" Randy smirked. I hadn't realized I was staring.

"You could say that. Now grab the cooler and let's go." I said trying to get out of that awkward situation. I heard Randy chuckle.

"Yes ma'am." Randy said very posh. I turned around and slapped his shoulder playfully making Randy laugh. We brought the cooler in the trunk and we got in the car driving to the competition. I was actually really nervous. I had my first cheer solo so I was going through all the steps in my head hoping I wouldn't mess up. Randy put a hand on my leg and squeezed it a little.

"Your going to do amazing. Don't worry." Randy stated. It's like he can read my mind. I looked over at him and smiled. He smiled back then continued driving. I could see the track. There were people sitting and walking everywhere.

We parked and went to find where my team was. Randy grabbed my hand and we walked side by side. The I saw the team. I stopped and looked up to Randy holding both of his hands.

"Have fun. I'll be right by your bench with the water if you need it." Randy said looking down at me.

"Ok." I breathed.

"Your going to be fine so don't worry about it." Randy squeezed my hands reassuringly.

"Thank you. My parents and Joe and Zoe are coming over so watch for them and save them a spot."

"I will. Now go have fun."

"I will." Randy leaned down and gave me a kiss. I giggled. "You have red lipstick on your lips now."

"Ugh." Randy wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and I ran off to my team. They were all stretching out so I joined them doing the same.

"You and Randy are so cute together." A girl name Paige said.

"Thank you." I blushed.

"Ok ladies! We have some tough competition here today but I know we can do it and we can beat North High." Hannah stated.

"Yeah right." I girl with dark drown hair and blue eyes said. The whole team was behind her with there arms crossed including the girl in the front.

"Just stop Katie." Hannah rolled her eyes.

"Your right. We'll get more time to practice to beat you yet again." Katie's eyes landed on me. "You brought a new one in?"

"Yes we did." Katie came over to me.

"Break a leg, for real." And she left.

"Don't listen to Katie. She's just a big, fat wannabe." Hannah rolled her eyes.

The competition started. The solos were starting and I was getting super nervous. I looked over at Randy and he gave me thumbs up and nodded. The rest of my family was there waving. I smiled and fixed my hair a little. Hannah was coming toward me.

"Ok. Delaney. You are an amazing cheerleader and I believe in you. Don't think just do. Just have fun ok?" Hannah said.

"I will. I'm just really nervous." I said.

"That's normal. All of us get really nervous. Don't think about the bad think about the good. Just take a deep breath and relax. You are going to amaze everyone."

"I hope so."

"You will. I guarantee that this is the year we will have someone beat North High." A voice came over the speaker announcing my name would be next. "You can do this." Hannah rubbed my shoulders and fixed my hair. I looked up at Randy who nodded. I let out a breath.

"I'm ready." I said confidently.

"Yeah you are. Go get em tiger." Hannah smiled. I took my step toward my starting stop. I heard the cheers. This was it.
