Chapter 63

Laci's pov
"Laci?"Chris said,I looked up and saw him sitting up and rubbing his eyes."are y-"I immediately cut him off,"my-my w-water broke."he widened his eyes.that fully woke him up now,he shot out of bed."it's gonna be ok,it's gonna be ok."he repeated to me as he held my hand,I held onto him."I'm scared."I whispered,"its alright."he assured me.He quickly grabbed the bag we prepared and rushed back to me,he held my hand and supported my back with his other hand as he led me down the stairs and out the house.as he led me in the car I felt another sharp pain,"FUCK!"I cursed."it's ok,it's ok."he assured me,he quickly closed the passenger door and quickly got in the driver's side.

he quickly buckled up and immediately started the car,he hit the gas and drove off.I held onto my belly and the sides of the car,squeezing my eyes shut."fuck these fucking red lights!"Chris cursed,i immediately opened my eyes."Chris please don't break the law."i begged,he looked at me and his eyes immediately softened up."I-I'm sorry."he apologized,"I-It's ok."I said.We finally made it to the hospital,Chris sloppily parked the car and quickly got out.he opened the passenger door for me and helped me out,he quickly grabbed the bag and closed the passenger door.I held onto him as he led me inside the hospital,"HELP MY WIFE'S GIVING BIRTH!"he yelled when we entered the hospital.

a nurse immediately rushed towards us with a wheelchair,Chris helped me sit down on it."don't worry ma'am just breathe."she assured me as she wheeled me down the hall,I held Chris' hand tightly as he walk along side me.the nurse led us into a room and with her and Chris' help I managed to lay down on the bed with my legs spread apart,"the doctor will be here soon."she assured me.then she left the room,"how are you feeling?"Chris asked as he moved some hair away from my face."Nervous,scared,excited."I replied,he smiled.I smiled back,"she's here,she's really here."he whispered.I gently kissed him,only to feel pain again.

I winced,"party pooper."i hissed.he laughed,then the doctor came in."ah you must be Chris and Laci Cornell,I'm doctor Gordon and I'll be your doctor."he introduced himself to us,"nice to meet you doc."Chris said."nice to-"i winced in pain again."let's get that baby out of you shall we?"he said,I nodded.Chris put his hand on my back and held my hand,"alright mrs.Cornell,it's time to push."i widened my eyes and whimpered."I-I can't."i said,"you got this Laci,I believe in you."Chris tried to motivate me.I gulped,I took a deep breath and tried to push.

"You're doing great mrs.Cornell,keep pushing."the doctor said,tears were rolling down my cheeks as I tried my best to push.I began to cry,"I-I can't do it."I sobbed."yes you can Laci,come on baby."Chris said,"I'm starting to see the head."doctor Gordon said.I took a deep breath,"I-I can do this."I thought.I squeezed Chris' hand and pushed with all my might,gritting my teeth a bit.I felt so exhausted,and that's when I heard it.I saw Chris widening his eyes,"here she is,Your baby girl."doctor Gordon said.

Chris slowly let go of my hand and walked towards her,i smiled despite how tired I was."would you like to cut the umbilical cord mr.Cornell?"he asked,"Uh,y-yeah."Chris said.a nurse helped him cut the umbilical cord,she then took Lily to get her cleaned up.Chris immediately rushed back towards me,"how are you feeling?"he asked."tired."I replied honestly,he smiled."go see her."i said,"are you sure?"he asked.I nodded,"it's alright mr.Cornell,your wife is in good hands."doctor Gordon assured him.

Chris' pov
Before I went to see Lily,I knew it would make sense to call our friends and family and tell them the good news.I called Laci's parents,Stevie and Brianna,Kim,Matt,Ben,Eddie and Beth,Layne and Demri,Dave and Jennifer,Krist and Shelli,and then Kurt and Courtney.I decided to call one last person,i shakily exhaled as I dialed the number in."hi this is Peter Cornell,I'm busy at the moment but you can leave a message!"the voice said,I then heard a beep noise.I hesitated for a moment,"Hey Pete...it's me..."I began to say.

I sighed,"look I'm sorry,ok?sorry for all the shit that happened.I'm sorry for ignoring you,I'm sorry for not talking to you.but I want that to change,I...I have a daughter now Peter.her name is Lily,and she's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen.and uh,I would appreciate it if you came to see your niece...please..."I said.I hung up the phone,I sighed and rubbed my eyes."shake it off Chrissy boy,go see your daughter."I thought,I walked off to where the newborns were being held.there were other fathers looking at their sons and daughters,I gently placed my hand on the window and looked at the nurses gently placed Lily in her little crib.I smiled and began to tear up,"it's a great feeling,Isn't it?"someone said.

I turned my head and saw a guy looking at the window,"yeah...it is...."i said.he pointed at a baby and said,"that's my second kid,Luke."I looked at the baby boy he was pointing at."if you don't mind me asking...what was it like having your first kid?"I asked,he looked at me and smiled.he chuckled,"it was hell at first,he would just cry and cry.my wife nearly gave up,but that's when we realized that we were newbies.we didn't know shit about babies,we didn't even prepare ourselves."he began to explain."so my wife and I did all sorts of research,and now we know exactly what to do."he continued,i looked at Lily."that your daughter?"he asked,"yeah...it is..."I said.he put his hand on my shoulder,I looked at him."let me give you a piece of advice boy:don't stress about it,let nature take its course."he said,I was sorta confused but I sorta got it.
