"How are you feeling?"Chris asked.the tour was back on,we couldn't delay it any longer despite the fact that everyone was still grieving.I sighed,"not too good,but I think I'll be ok."i admitted.he gently hugged me,as he did Kim ran into the room giggling as he carried Lily on top of his shoulders."YO DUDE BE CAREFUL SHE'S STILL A FUCKING BABY!"Ben yelled,I looked at Chris."it's like we're dealing with 3 more kids."i joked at Matt grabbed Lily from Kim's shoulders,"here you go Lac."he said as he handed her to me."thanks Matt."Chris said,suddenly the phone rang.I sighed,"I'll get it."i said as I handed Lily to Chris.I walked to the phone and picked it up,"He-"I was immediately cut off by Jerry."Laci!Laci it's Layne!"he exclaimed,i widened my eyes.
"What?what's wrong with Layne?"i asked worryingly."He left rehab!"he replied,I sighed."oh no..."I said worryingly,I guess I should explain something:see after Kurt's death,it was a wake up call for both Layne and Demri.they didn't want to do drugs anymore,so Jerry and I signed them up for rehab.they've only been there for a month,"what about Demri?"I asked."she's out too."he said,I rubbed my eyes."Mike found Layne and Demri at the park and took them back to their apartment,him and Sean are with them right now."he explained,"well at least someone's with them,it would be much worse if we couldn't find them."i said."the point is..."Jerry trailed off,"what?"I asked.
"Laci,you're our manager.so I won't sugarcoat this:we don't want Layne performing anymore.he needs to rest,he needs to get better,him and Demri need to stop taking heroin or else..."he said,I didn't say anything.was it really coming to this?was Alice In Chains...over?"do the other guys agree on this?"I asked,"yeah...they do..."he replied.I sighed,closing my eyes for a moment.I opened them and cleared my throat,"then it's official:Alice in Chains is over."i said.
