"Happy birthday to you!happy birthday to you!happy birthday dear Lily!Happy birthday to you!"we sang to Lily.I can't believe she's already turning 1,it seems like just yesterday when she was a little popcorn kernel in my belly.we invited almost everyone we knew:Matt,Kim,Ben,Stevie,Brianna,Hiro,Krist,Shelli,Dave,Jennifer,Eddie,Beth,my parents,Stone,Jeff,Mike M.,Jerry,Sean,Layne,Demri,and Mike S.Layne and Demri look exhausted,but Eddie and Beth looked happy.they're getting married in a couple of weeks,which means Beth will be my sister-in-law!Dave and Jennifer already got married,and I was happy for them.
Brianna and Hiro got married two years ago,and Stevie has a girlfriend.I told him he could bring her along,but he said no because he didn't even introduce her to his parents yet.I tried to convince Courtney to bring Frances over,but she wouldn't answer any of my calls."open your gifts Lily!"Chris encouraged her as he placed a wrapped gift in front of her,Eddie was recording everything on his camera.Lily opened her gift,she widened her eyes and lifted up a teddy bear.she smiled and hugged it,causing everyone to say aw.seeing her smile made me and Chris' hearts melt,but then we heard the doorbell ring."are we expecting anyone else?"Chris asked,"I don't think so."I replied.
Eddie put down his camera as I got up,he sped past me."Eddie what are you doing?"I asked as we got up to the front door,"what if it's an assassin?I gotta be your human shield."he said.I sighed and jokingly rolled my eyes,I unlocked the door and opened it."hi,Uh does Chris Cornell live here?"the man asked,"yeah he does,"I replied."who wants to know?"Eddie asked rudely,"I'm his brother,Pete."the man introduced himself to us.Eddie and I widened our eyes,"who's at the door g-"Chris cut himself off when he saw Pete."long time no see,right Chris?"Pete said,i looked at Chris.he looked frozen,and his eyes were widened.I could tell that he was going to have a panic attack,I gently grabbed Chris' wrist and led him away from the door.
